I recently was contacted by the better business B.... They stated they recieved a favorable email about my company. Was this just a ploy to get me to Join? Also, are there any real tangible benefits from joining the better business b...? I do plan on joining the Chamber of Commerce for my city.

What are others thoughts on the Better Business B.... ?

Thanks,
Reed

Reed, from a business stand point i think it is a good idea, it is something that everyone from blue collar to corporate america can identify with. I checked into it but when I saw that one of the pre-req's was that you have been in business I think it was two years I put it on the back burner.

From a consumer standpoint, I always go to there web site and check out the ratings of companies if I am going to deal with them. It has made the difference for me in the past of who I have done business with. Especially when dealing with contractors.

Just my .02 worth.

The BBB is not a state or federal agency - it is a independent business - a lot of people do not realize that.

Now saying that - I would most certanly join. Put it on all of your mail-outs, bus card, etc. Name recognition - custormers can identify with the BBB & thats all that matters. Customers don't realize how easy it is to join and that the organization itself carries no weight, other than trying to settle disputes.

Join the BBB and the Chamber and PWNA - it will only bring credibilty to your business.

Thats an awesome compliment. I've never had that happen to me. Its saids a lot for the work you do - Congrads.

Thanks for responding guys. I told the bbb to call me back at the first part of May, that is when cash flow is up and running.

Tim did you get my ? about your deck contract?

Did you get the bidpricing sheet to work?

Reed

ps, Tim can you get an AOL instant messenger name? Its free and I can converse with you immediately when you are on line and not just through the boards?

Reed

I have not seen the deck contract question - where is it?

I've been playing with the spreadsheet - thats awesome - Thanks.

How do I get a AOL Instant Messenger Name?

Reed if I send you the contract by email - can you make it where I can post it & send it back to me?

I sent it in a private message. Yes, I can do that if you send it as a text file of some sort and then send it back to you, you should be able to. Also, if you have it on disk already do a "save as" and save as *.doc

BUSINESS IS BOOMING

I HAVE WATCHED MY BUSINESS GROW AT AN INCREADABLE RATE EACH YEAR. I HAVE A PAINTING AND POWER WASHING COMPANY. YOU HAVE TO SHOW YOUR CUSTOMERS YOU ARE DIFFERENT THEN THE COMPETITION. OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS I HAVE JOINED SEVERAL TRADE ORGINAZITIONS (PWNA), WE HAVE BEEN MEMBERS OF BBB FOR SEVERL YEARS NOW. IT IS A MUST. IT TELLS YOUR CUSTOMERS YOU PAY TO HAVE YOURSELF MONITATIORED. CUSTOMERS NEED THIS CONFORT IN ORDER TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU.

MY 2 CENTS
