Best Chemical for cleaning Brick

We don't use it to clean concrete, only for new construction mortar tag/smear removal. Generally concrete, during that stage of our being onsite, is just a rinse as it's pretty new. We prefer less expensive chems for driveways as well :)

Oh yuck that house is nasty! That isn't going to require an acid wash off the bat.....good strong housewash will take off general dirt & grime from old brick. Careful with your pressure as old mortar tends to dissentigrate with too much pressure and you'll play heck trying to repoint bricks & match mortar! If the foundation doesn't come clean, go back with some oxalic acid (do not spot clean!)

oh ok...lot's of peeps on the other forum suggested it. No doubt it's good stuff from all the pictures I've seen, but like you, I thought that it was very expensive for regular cleaning....just curious. :)
 
If someone was to use an Eacochem product for cleaning concrete (driveways) I would think they would be using GS Restoration - it's a hydrochloric acid based product that also contains oxalic to brighten. Again, expensive unless you have exhausted sodium hypochlorite or oxalic in my opinion.

Ron is the flatwork expert - he would definitely be the best for the proper chems and ratios.

I use the dry potatoes with sour cream in a bag. Mix with water, agitate and downstream. Bam!

Any other suggestions? I have two brick home's to wash in the next week. It's mostly dirt,grime, and algae.
 
Do you mix it stronger than you would for vinyl, or its about the same? For 5gal bucket I usually do 2 gals 12.5% sh, 2 gals surfactant, 1gal water. But thats for my pump up sprayer.if one were to down stream that, would you just not add the water to the bucket and add more sh of surfactant?

Yes you would mix stronger than you would for vinyl.

It's all going to depend on the GPM of your machine, how much hose you use, severity of the stains, etc etc For my 8GPM I use 200 feet of hose and I downstream straight 10% w 4 ounces of Roof Snot.
