Are there still servers for CS 1.6?

Recently, I’ve been feeling the urge to play Counter-Strike 1.6 again. However, a logical question has come to mind: Considering how many years have passed since the game’s release and how many new versions have come out since then, are there even any active servers left for this classic? Are there people to play with in the evenings, or has the online community completely disappeared, leaving only empty maps and bots in the matchmaker? Please let me know what the current situation is with servers and online play.

I'm also wondering if there are any servers out there. Where's the best place to find a high-quality game build with an up-to-date master list? I've heard that the search function is broken in many older clients and doesn't show the actual list of available servers. Instead, it returns suspicious sites and fake bots.

Hey, CS 1.6 is still more active than a lot of modern games. People are actively playing both in the evening and during the day. The online player count is consistently high, and I haven’t come across any bots or empty servers recently. The main thing is to have a decent client with a working matchmaker, because in older builds, the matchmaking is often down or flooded with bots. I personally play using the build from the csget website. You can Click here to check it out for yourself and see if you like it, but in my opinion, it’s the best build. Do you prefer the classic 5v5 mode and public matches, or do you enjoy playing on unofficial mods?
