Tell the customer for 80 bucks you can have the local crack head come take care of the powder. Its a win win situation you make 80 bucs the crack head gets a well balanced meal and the customer get a cleaner system!

The Crack Head MAY try and snort the powder, OR cook it up and try and smoke it, LOL

Sorry, I couldn't resist .....

Crack head will tape the door lock and come back later and rip of everything in the store including all the copper pipes in the place and pawn evrything else.

I blew Chunks one time at a hood cleaning... But I was real sick .. It must have been the green goop running out of the hood.. Anyway I have cleaned a hood for $80.00... It was a 30" Braun Residential hood took about 30 minutes a whole spray bottle of purple degreaser.. They told me the would pay me in 30 days... It was a daycare.... Guess what never got paid and I wasted 3 rags and $2.00 worth of degreaser and about a $1.00 worth of gas to get too the location.

Powder is Foam's older brother.

Ed - What are you posting about? You said that back in Nov. 06. I am trying to help here.

Powder is a what not a who.
Powder is what was sprayed into ductwork after cleaning about 30 years ago.
NFPA 96 addressed it about 20 (?) years ago and said no more powder.
It is similar to what might happen with foam if cleaners keep spraying it all over fusible links.

Powder was more like a retardant. It also allowed some cleaners to blow pretty white powder over a dirty duct system to make it appear as if it was cleaned.
Foam is only a suspension method of applying degreaser. Mix your chems with Dawn, corn starch or a manufactured foaming agent and aerate while spraying and you have foam. Foam will stick on the walls of a duct longer than liquid chem from a pump up sprayer will allowing the chems more time to do their work.

This is a classic
Got a call last week from a guy wanting a bid.

He said that he just had his guy clean it last week but would like a bid for the next time it is due. He wanted to save some money and maybe get better service (always has to call his guy several times to get him to show up.

He pays $80.00.
