OK...skid has been stored for about 8 months. Battery fully charged, new spark plugs, full tank of gasoline..turn the key....nothing.

Thoughts?

fuel varnished up in the carb?
corroded wires?
ignition coil failure?

It sat over the winter before and started right up for the first gig of the year.

Possibly water in the tank from condensation. If it's trying to start, try shooting a little hot start in the carb then starting it. I've had to do this in the past but once you keep it running for about a minute or so everything gets cleared out and it's fine. Did you crimp in the spark plug when you put it in?

If it sat for 8 months without stabilized fuel in it, my vote is for varnish.

You answered it. With gas now having 10% ethanol it will gum up in DAYS if there is moisture present.

The starter turns over. I don't know why I didn't put something in the fuel prior to storing it. Last spring it fired right up.

Thanks for all the input. I'll let you know how I make out, I think the fuel line is getting replaced too, its awfully rigid for flexible tubing.

WELL, hate to break the news but fuel was fine. I don't know if it just wanted to wait for April or the pistons needed some lubrication. A friend told me to pull the plugs and shoot a little "Blaster" down in and the bugger fired right up.

However now the unloader is stuck in bypass. and yes its a k7.

Blaster is the best product out there, for me, it almost replaces duct tape! I have a can of it in every room! Wouldn't be with out it!
