Here are some pics of my roof cleaning method from a couple years back.Just look at that spray!I was taking down small roofs in as little as 5-6 hours!I Thought some of you vets might get a laugh from this.I will soon be upgrading from the delevan.Any body else learn from scratch?

I started out in '94 using my pressure washer, drilling out my chem injector, flowing s/h and rinsing with a mild pressure. I soon ran across a "roof masters" rig ('95) and noticed the shurflo and I got to work on a rig asap. I started out with a "huge" 45 gallon mix tank, and 200' of 3/8".

LOL, that LOOKS like a small shurflo and 3/8 hose.
I could pee more then that after a 6 pack of Beer!

I did my first roof in 1976, working as a roofer in Seattle.
We used buckets of Chlorine/Water/TSP mixed, and used paint rollers designed for concrete with long wooden poles.
We simply dipped the rollers in the mix, and rolled it on!

I cleaned hundreds of roofs that way, it was the way us roofers did it, way back when ....
 
first roof not a big deal did it for my neighbor for free to test out process.

don't know if i got a bad batch of TSP or what but it never got foamy??

other things i learned is that a swivel is very important(love leaking on my hands thru out job).

any sprayer will work.

hose management is important i learned to throw it(slack) on other side

don't sit in the love??!!!!?? TALK ABOUT THE RED AZZ plus when i got down from roof partner noticed that bleach had ate my pants up. very funny.....

hehe:D was looking closer at the pics and notice your lil bottle of bleach up there. humble beginnings man always the trademark of a self made man.
 
Dogg,I have my gun connected to a threaded barb and hose clamp never any leaks.I would find a better way to connect your gun to the hose.I'm speculating that adding a inline swivel would only add a weak link for s/h to corode and leak.
Russ,The pics are about 2 years old.Whatever tris I had are not there now.I usually take off a few months in the winter and bounce in the spring.I'm finding it hard to get some momentum going this year. Its funny to think back at how clever I thought I was tying jugs of bleach to a rope and pulling them up on the roof.:eek:
 
i thought i was clever myself with the same idea ....... crawling around 30 to 40 feet in the air at times looking like a rock climber pulling a jug .... even tried it with a back pack sprayer ...... hahaha ....... our yellow friend found his way out the top and all down my back .....arrrrrrrrrgh

what are you using now russ?

hey russ,

what are you using now instead of the shur-flos? i have upgraded my pressure washing outfit and now i am ready to upgrade the roof cleaning system. i cannot decide if i want to go with the 12vdc diaphragm pumps or the gas powered rig with a roller pump? so partner, what's it gonna be?
