We have an ongoing contract with several municipalities for spill response for government owned vehicles, most often this is for garbage trucks. I am sure that we have all seen the little drops that the trucks leave as they traverse our streets, but every once and a while they drip alot, and raises the concern of a citizen. Thai is where we come in, when the complaint comes into the municipality, they call us to clean, absorb or what ever we can do to get the surface oil from the streets. Our contract specifies that we ONLY revols surface oil and not to damage the sub strate, thus leaving a stain.
Why this is a tax payer nightmare, is that these are almost always avoidable incidents, if the municipalities just paid a Little more attention to the preventive maintenance, then our services would be alot less needed. I am not complaining about the $$$$$ but I am a tax payer as well. Just wanted to vent a bit.
Maybe go talk to your local governement official, about saving some $$$ for your town.
