Wife's PhD

For the last several years my wife, Kim Gilligan, has been working on her PhD and is nearing the finish line. There is a comic that she reads dealing with grad school and she has entered a contest in which the winner will have their dissertation turned into a comic by the artist.

If you have time, please click on this link and vote for her. The best way to find her is to press Control and F at the same time and type in "Gilligan." http://www.phdcomics.com/tv/2minute/#170

Thanks in advance.

Done. I only saw one person that was even close to having the same number of votes as your wife. Interesting that the two top vote getters were a dissertation on the Non proliferation treaty compliance, and Transsubstantiation. Talk about being about polar opposites.

Done. Thought I replied earlier, but it didn't show up.

Perhaps once. Yes she did earn it, and I could not be more proud. I would call her that as often as she would like but fortunately she is not set on the title from those she likes. I believe I am in that catagory. Of course, some of the people she works who have made her life hell with will have to call her Dr. Gilligan.

We joke with each other that she will be a Dr, but not a real one that has access to medication.

We are heading to Norfolk tomorrow so she can defend her dissertation to the committee on Friday. After that, she will have to make corrections which she hopes will only take a couple of days. After that she submits her final copy and will graduate in May. She had hoped to defend in Oct and graduate in December but that did not happen because her committee could not get it together. Oh well.

Many years have passed, but I decided to revive this topic and ask if your wife's doctoral dissertation was a success? It's very interesting actually.
