opened a can of worms Ron. I pesonally THINK Obama will win, just my thought. I will not vote. If I was to vote i would write in Ron Paul

If the real polls looked like the one here so far than Romney would have it. I think Obama will win, but it is a close race. MD's electoral will be going Obama. I hear a lot of ballets have Mikey Mouse written on them. I wonder if that number is increasing? I think it does matter, and I think the world economy is a mess, meaning that it also matters what other countries are doing and if they have leaders that will play on the global team.

Obama has all the public employees. The more employed by the government, the more democrat votes.

As of February 1/4 of the public is on medicaid
1/8 on food stamps.
One in five Americans—the highest in the nation’s history—relies on the federal government for everything from housing, health care, and food stamps to college tuition and retirement assistance. That’s more than 67.3 million Americans who receive subsidies from Washington.

That is a solid 20% voting block. Obama only needs another 30% of liberals and people who don't know Al Franken from Al Sharpton.

I don't see how he can pull it off, but he probably will and it will be the worst thing that ever happened to this country, while at the same time the spark the country needs to change.

We know what Ryan is all about. Who the f**k is this Romney guy and what exactly does he plan to do differently. I can name 15 people off the top of my head who get ssi and medicade but work for cash on the side. I know 3 people with HIV whom contracted by means of not giving a sh*t about consequences. They now qualify for free medical, a monthly check, and work for cash on the side. None of these guys will do what it takes. The national debt will never ever ever fall below 16 trillion until this government implodes and a new currency emerges. This country is screwed. God bless our kids, grandkids, and so forth.

If you think that there is no difference between the two candidates then you really are not paying attention to what is going on in the country. If Obama was actually judged by what he has done, not what he says but actually does, I really believe less than 10-20% of the country would vote for him. All the BS that is put out there by the media about how the Repubs want to push G-ma over the cliff or starve your kids is just that BS. Romney is first a business man and a leader who knows how to run a business and structure an organization for maximum efficiency (proven by both his company and the Olympic games). In my opinion if you really want to make America great again it needs to be run like a business, streamline and cut for maximum efficiency. In every place that these conservative principals have been applied the communities have prospered and G-ma isn't being pushed over a cliff and the kids aren't starving to death. In fact the economies are improving there is less poverty and more people working. Wisconsin vs Illinois is a perfect example. WI went from the 8th worst deficit in the country to a surplus in one year by eliminating the fraud in the public sector unions, IL on the other hand is on the verge of bankruptcy and they raised taxes and gave more to the public sector unions (its working well for them so far since the teachers went on strike the day school started and are saying a 16% raise is not enough). And if you want to say republicans are greedy thats a crock too as a group they donate more of their personal income by % for charitable causes than anyone.

Overall I am so sick of the class war nonsense they keep spewing out. Stop trying to make everyone equal or everyone a winner. Instead lets strive to become successful like them, thats what makes people great. Lets rise to the challenge and prove our worth! When people are invested in their own future and they get to keep more of their income they will work harder, plain and simple its human nature. (Whats in it for me.) If we can reestablish this independent mindset instead of always expecting others to do it for us you just wait and see how the country grows back to its once superpower status.

Truthfully it does not matter. Each side is guilty of spending more than it should, but yelling across the aisle because the other party is doing the same thing. For every penny of deficit spending the democrats are responsible for, the republicans have the same amount of responsibilty. Most of it has to do with getting elected to your next term, not what is good for the country. "Deficit spending is okay as long as it will get me re-elected, but damn you for spending more money" they seem to say.

Unfortunately there is hardly a single member of congress who is willing to have a frank and open discussion about where the money is going. If anybody here ran their business like the government you would be on your ass in no time. Imagine your household brings in 100,000 a year, but yet you spend 300,000 or more a year. You can only do that for so long by borrowing more and more money. Eventually your creditors will cut you off. Now imagine you tell your family, "I got it. We will reduce our spending by 50,000." That does nothing. You are still spending more money than you make.

Each side has come up with plans to reduce the DEFICIT (not debt) by X amount of dollars over a certain period of time. The amount they have talked about reducing the deficit would be laughable if it was not scary. Their plans only slow down the progress towards financial ruin, not prevent it from happening. Unfortunately a lot of people in this country do not understand the difference between deficit and debt, nor do they know how much money we are talking about. So when they hear plan A saying "we are going to reduce our deficit by X amount of billions of dollars" they think things are good. Unfortunately our deficit (amount of money we spend over our budget) is in the trillions.

I hope Romney wins, partially because I lean right on more issues than I lean left. I also hope he wins because when he fails to do what he promises to do, I seriously hope it will initiate a change in the thinking in many of the citizens here. I would love to see a legitimate third party. Every president since and including Nixon (3 democrats, 5 republicans) have all promised to reduce our dependance on foreign oil. How's that working out? Each President has made promises that they have not kept, and even worse they have made promises they knew they could not keep. Unfortunately the country is so polarized that they only see what the other guy is doing, not what their guy is doing.

There are three things needed to fix our economy.

1) We need 75% unemployment and that 75% needs to come exclusively from federal government workers getting the immediate boot. (Sorry if your spouses are fed employees, but the country is more important that those four quads in your garage)

2) Establish a max of 8 years for any elected public servant at the federal level. Period. After that time they may run for president only. Eliminate all pensions and perks for elected office after the term is up. How do guys like Harry Reid go in practically broke and come out one of the wealthiest men in America?

3) Repeal every federal law in the country and start over. If it can't fit on one page or it oversteps the bounds laid out by the constitution, it never makes it to law.

Number 3! Number 3! But don't start over - The anti-Federalists have been proven right, lets go back to Articles of Confederation.
