Who cold calls residential customers

Do any of you make cold calls to homeowners. If so, do you get solicitors license to call on residential customers. I want to fill in some down time on the commercial side and do some roof work.

Where I live you do not need a license but that might change.

I have cold called some homeowners and have not had much success but then again I am not that good at selling.

With my new stencil things might change. hahahahaha

Do it as much as I can, and love it!!! No licence needed here. There are a few things I do to maximize closing sales. Cold Calling is fun to me, I just get a lot out of meeting and selling Homeowners.

No license needed here. I'm pretty darn good at cold calling if I do say so. Best time is when you are working and see neighbors coming and going. Real cold calls while not doing work in the neighborhood is an art. It's tough invading someones nest. My close rate on those is low.

My hat's off to you Guy if you can convert those to sales on a regular basis.

Not Tooting my horn, but I'll spend 4 hrs. on Sat. working an area, that turns into $1000.00 + Mondays. And did this the past 2 Saturdays in a row. I Love My Customers!!!
