Whitco Burner Problem

My Burner quit working.. I Have power from the generator Here are the picks from my solution.. One thing though there was this black hose running from under the unloader on the cross.. it ran to some sort of adjustment thing that had a valve assembly in it with a spring.. I just took this off and laid it aside .. I installed the flow switch and wired it up to the fuel soloniod .. I have no idea what that gizmo was for .. anyway it works fine now.. The pressure switch does not seem to control anything but I left it alone .. This is sort of rigged up but it works..

Question ... Now that the flow switch is in can I get rid of the black hose thing and plug it off at the cross.. also I don't see any need for the pressure switch...

That is called a Clippard Valve. The back pressure in the bypass line shuts this valve and stops fuel flow. If the flow switch is controlling your burner properly, you don't need it and can plug it off.

You will learn.
Good job.
