Where to mount skid

Right now I have a cold water 4gpm machine. I'll be upgrading hopefully soon to a pressure pro hot water skid, Hello Russ. Most of the pictures I've seen people mount them in front of the buffer tank (front of trailer). I would think that mounting it behind the tank (rear of trailer) would help gravity feed the pump. But what do I know. Is there a specific reason to why most are mounted in the front part of the trailer?

Here's a picture of my trailer if it helps. Thanks.

You want to have an even load it helps with weight distribution when its in the front rather than the rear but best to have most weight above the axles.

Up front as close to the tongue is where you will get the easiest control of the trailer for hauling. Tank behind and over the axles.

Thank you guys!

I researched alot about this same thing. Rule of thumb is around 200lbs on the tongue. Imo, this doesn't make sense and is near impossible. One thing I found is, more weight in th back has a tendency to make the trailer sway and will cause serious handeling issues. It seems the majority put the washer upfront.

I have a 12' trailer, so this is all relative. Considering the success of others, I feel comfortable with my washer upfront.

Having 200 lbs of tongue weight is not the same as having 200 pounds on the tongue... It means that if the weight is properly distributed among the trailer (60% in front of the axles and 40% behind the axles) 10% of the total weight should be expressed in downwards force on the tongue.
