Syria just cut off all internet for the entire country. They also cut off landlines.

It is my belief that with the our country's debt and the false economy we have built with government mandates, social engineering and government interference that this will happen to our country in the next four years.

The laws and executive orders are already in place to facilitate a shutdown.

We are using the internet for our business, but we are taking pains to make sure we can function without it.

What are your predictions? Will this happen here? When?

I would just kill myself if I couldn't play words with friends !!! Please tell me it aint so Tony?

There are to many of us to fear, they have not taken away our rights to defend ourselves. If anything they would need to try and disarm the citizens first before trying something stupid as that. That would shut down commerce and the economy would fail in short order, and that's when all the fun begins !!

they may slow it down or filter it but no way they will eliminate it...we have too many guns to fight back. (at least or now)

There will be no one to fight. It will be a technically legal action that will be enforced by the same cops that enforce violations to our rights daily and will probably be implemented under the guise of "keeping us safe" somehow. Most sheep will accept it as they always do.

It will happen

There's just no way. Our lives have become so accustomed to the internet that many of us would be pretty lost with-out it now of days. Just look at how many business have benefited from the world wide web. do you really think the government is that stupid? Sure we could survive with-out it, we did in the past. But taking it away would be like taking cars and trucks away from a car dealership, or food from a restaurant.

As for these so called "regulations" This might a bit of a touchy subject. Someone somewhere isn't going to be happy about how things are being regulated, or that they may not be being regulated at all. I could really go on about I how really feel about these people who like to nit pick on ever regulation, but I don't want to fill this forum up with a bunch of cus words.

Are tinfoil hats itchy?

I guess the hats in Egypt were itchy too.

83 million people.

Commerce halted.

Essential services gone.

It's the lack or forward thinking that put us where we are today.

If a lot more morons put plastic hats on and tied them at the neck we wouldn't live in a police state that's broke.

I need to get a gun... Any recommendations?

+1
Exactly what I have been thinking lately.

Find a large gun show local to you on a Saturday and prepare to stay for several hours. Ask as many questions as you can think of. Get as many opinions as you can as well. These people know and understand what the crooks running the country are capable of. They'll be in the best position to help you decide what you need.

The simple fact that Americans haven't let go of their "arms" is why they haven't run over us yet. Australia is still regretting their decision to let only the LEOs, military and criminals have guns.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Farmers everywhere never thought in a million years they wouldn't be able to order firearms out of any catalog and have them sent to their farms.

The Tin Foil hat guys tried to inform them.

Today for a handgun you have to purchase it though a local dealer IN your own state of residence after submitting to a background check. If you had a fight with your little brother when you were 15 and the police were called that is domestic violence and you may be barred from having that handgun for life.

You will have to pay $25 for them to have the privilege of checking to find that fight with your little brother.

In many states you will have to wait up to 14 days after you buy it to take it home.

If you want to order from out of state you must have it shipped to a FFL dealer and pay them extortion fees for filling out the paperwork.

Ahhhh yes, the tin foil hat guys. Thank God someone is thinking ahead or we would be like the Chinese already.

I can't believe some of you guys don't have guns!?!? It is up to the people to over throw the government when it becomes corrupt, it is even in the constitution. How do we over throw the government without guns? I would suggest a Glock G21 that is my favorite hand gun I own.

I own a Saiga 12 w a 20 round drum semi-auto shotgun, so no man or machine is throwing me in a Patty Wagon alive. I also have 500 gallons of water and months of canned food in my garage. But there is a saying that goes, people who store up for disasters are just saving them for another man if they don't own guns!! Self defense is a must.

Speaking of which, it is almost December and its like 80 degrees out here in AZ, and even for AZ that is hot for this time of the year. When I was younger it would be cold by Holloween.

Yep, that was 5 years ago.
Back to your originally scheduled conspiracy discussion.
Btw, I doubt it will happen, but would not be horribly surprised if it did happen.:

I say within two years , it might last for only ten minutes just so they make sure they can do it,and tell you some lame azz story but it will happen.

You cannot increase spending and cut taxes at the same time . It's not rocket science but this is what
has happened since Regan. Then both Bushes increased spending more and cut taxes again reducing revenue further . Then all the wars , wall street, housing bubble, and Then O'bummer came along. Student debt is out of this world and no jobs. England is in super big financial trouble watched a show last night. Spain, Ireland , and Portugal to follow the Greeks path ?

Pressure washing has gone well this year ! I work for Wall Streeter's! The big bonus is still there .......
