What's a reasonable price for a general contractor project in Nanaimo?

Hey all, I'm getting ready to start a pretty big home reno project in Nanaimo and I'm trying to get a handle on what a reasonable price range would be before I start getting quotes. I know it depends a lot on the scope of the work, but just a general ballpark figure would be super helpful. We're talking about a kitchen remodel, some bathroom upgrades, and redoing the flooring throughout the main floor. What's a reasonable price for a general contractor project in Nanaimo that size, in your experience?

One thing to keep in mind is that the cheapest quote isn't always the best one. Sometimes, contractors will lowball their initial estimate to get the job, and then add on extra costs later. It's important to look at the overall value you're getting, not just the bottom line. Also, be sure to ask about their payment schedule and whether they offer any warranties on their work.

It's so hard to give a solid number without knowing the specifics, but I can tell you what I did. I also looked at estimates for things like Roofing Contractors in Duncan, BC, even though that wasn't what I needed, just to get a feel for how different companies in the area price their services. Generally, you’ll want to get at least three quotes. Factors to consider are materials, the contractor's overhead, and their profit margin. Make sure permits are included!
