What truck to buy?

I drive an 04 Chevy 3/4 ton with the 6.0 gas burner. 7k more for a diesel was a hard pill to swallow. I havent pulled anything with a newer diesel so I dont have anything to compare it to but its mine, its paid for, itll pull ANYTHING i need to pull with it. Its even had a D5 Cat behind it before...... Heck, I even got 16 mpg in it one time.

we run 2 2003 chev duramax.they are both chiped lifted and have major power.towing they avg. 14 16 mpg.with 8000 lb.load in the city.No trailer we have gotten as high as 27 on a long family trip.we have two gas chevys also.diesel all the way.The all have pros and cons.but know problems with my diesels at all we pull steep mountain passes full of water no problem at all.

Mike that would be the perfect truck if it had the cummings in it.....I miss mine. I run a stock duramax and its nice play truck compared to my old dodge. I think ford is top notch .....7.3 only for engines.
I will be going back to dodge next time.....
I would look at the 03 -to when every they put all that emiosion stuff on it. i have a friend thats has a 03 5 speed Cummiings that gets 24 on the road and 19 pulling bobcat....has a 65 horse power puck and straight pipe.

CUMMINS RULE!!

The best years that I like is '03-05. In '06 they started hanging more junk on them, but they still run pretty good, up till they made the 6.7.

I have a New Chevy on the way, been driving a Ford for a lot of years and love it. Going to try out the New Chevy with a Duramax in it and the Allison Transmission. Could not beat the 0% loan, I think I will use their money for a while or should I say OUR BAILOUT MONEY for a while.

You could still get a good CUMMINS in an 07 model, I was looking at them, but they want almost as much as I can buy a new one for.

I run a 2002 chevy 2500hd 8.1 liter 496 big block with the allison and have no problems pulling, good strong truck a puller is what it is. I have friends running the chevy duramax with the allison and there are no complaints from them just a strong puller and some friends with dodge 3/4 ton with a cummins but if you go with them go with the straight drive(stick, manual) the auto trans in the dodge sucks for but the stick and the cummins and you have a truck. One thing is in the country we run trucks hard thats the way you all need to use them hard the trucks like it dont baby any truck its a truck!! Run them hard and keep them open, lol. Ford no comment.
