What to do with a pool pump

I have a practically brand new 40 gpm hayward pool pump that I used about 20 times with my DE filter I had attached to my ultrasonic machine. Is there any reason I can't hook this up to my tank and use it for rinsing?

Are there any other better uses for it?

Thanks

From memory 1.5" pipe has a max flow rate of around 40-44 gpm... So I think you would be hard pushed to get the volume of water you require for rinsing from 3/8" pressure hose...

My plan was to use a 1" to 1 1/2 inch hose. I've got 50 ft of vacuum hose I could use. This would be for simply rinsing off concrete. I would leave the hose open on the end and just rinse with high volume. At least that was my thoughts.

You're gonna need a mighty big tank with a 4o gpm flowrate. Is the pump 110 volt or 220?

It's 110. I have a 325 gallon tank that usually stays full because my PW is only 4.8 gpm. I was just thinking it would be nice to be able to rinse fast with lots of water.

Not worth the trouble. You wont be able to keep the tank full unless you are hooked to a hydrant. If you are able to hook to a hydrant, then just rinse straight from there.
