I'm still scratching my head about which skid to buy. The company just up the road [ very nice if I have problems] will put together a 8GPM, 3500 psi, hot water machine, 24 HP Honda, KARCHOR machine set up for 2 wands, 225 tank, chem tanks, tandum trailer 2 reels and hoses for 10K. Your input is appreciated.

Not bad, not bad at all.

Thanks Ron, I plan on washing anything thay will stand still, except hoods, not ready for that.

Hello Ken,

We also clean most anything that will stand still and hoods too! We've always had high volume equipment.

The skid you are considering using a 225 gallon water tank will only run a little less than 30 minutes. It must have a 12 volt system for the burner (8 x 3500/1200 = 23.3 hp) . You will need a generator if your going to work at night. Ask what the temperature rise will be for the burner. We try to have 100,000 Btu per 1 gpm flow.

Thanks for the input Dave. Why will I need a generator ? I assume to light an area if no power available. I can put a 375 tank for about the same price. Lots of weight to carry. I think that most places I wash will have a water source. What do you think ?

Hi Ken,

Besides always having high volume pumps we've always carried at least 1000 gallons of water to the job site. Even with a 375 gallon tank, you will have less than one hour run time if you run your pump flatout!

If you count on your customer to provide something/anything, plan on being disappointed from time to time. We have done a lot of projects because our customer didn't need to/wern't able to, provide us with anything other than access to the work.

I guess I don't understand the problem with water. I hear so much about the larger GPM that's what I plan to go with. Others in the Carolinas like this. Is water pressure slower in AZ ?
