Sodium Hydroxide will leave that residue if not neutralized by vinegar or citrus acid.
 
I agree with Ant they had a leakage problem and didn't do a full clean up, but some stainless steal polish should take care of that problem
 
My guess is an inexperienced cleaner with a high powered pressure washer. You cover up as good as you want but if you are using high pressure on a hood, there is going to be overspray.

Kinda funny, I get these call all the time with the store mixing up me as the KEC guy.

Thats why i get so many KEC leads, I have a good guy now. If you should have someone else i would be happy to lead them the two calls i get per week on this type of service.

I may just start putting the audios online, first come first serv.
