What do you do in this scenario?

This season was my first in PW. I found that one of the main occurring oddities was that I had tons of homeowners schedule the work to be done when they were going to be home because they "Wanted to be there when I did it" One even said they had to because their dogs and kids were there? I was like what are kids doing at home while your at work anyhow? Needless to say I called the authorities to them and had it investigates at which time she called me back and screamed her kids are never left alone and I replayed the message she left and I said it was her fault for lying anyhow. Moving right along lol

What or how would you approach a homeowner who "HAS" to be home for service to be performed...

I hope part A is a joke.
If not you better buy a cup that chick is gonna kick your junk to the roof of your mouth if she ever sees you again.

Part B
I usually christen them the first time the walk around a blind corner near where I'm spraying. They typically run back inside and stay there after that.

This one would make you laugh guys.

I saw a homeowner follow a fellow pw around the house with an umbrella. "You going to get up there?", "You missed a spot", "can that come any cleaner?"

We were doing a house wash for an older couple a few years ago including gutters.I had already scrubbed the back gutter and was working on the front.
Angela called for me to come look around the corner. There stood the husband with a pair of mini binoculars about 10ft from the house checking things out.I ran around and grabbed the wand with my 0040 rinse tip in it and pulled the hose back to the side of the house.
I laid in wait until he got close enough to make it look like an accident and pulled the trigger shooting the corner of the soffit where the back and side of the house met.The old guy broke camp running for the door and had his wife pay us when we were done.
Come to think of it we haven't heard from them since, but it was so worth it.

Just how stupid can they get???

Thats funny!!!

I have no problem having them watch me. A home is most likely the largest purchase they will ever make and I respect the fact that they are concerned about how the home is treated.
How would you feel?

Dont let it bother you, If it bothers you so much, refuse the job. Other than that, let em watch

Hold on.....You REALLY made that phone call??

If you have a customer staying while you clean a vent hood .. I have a pump up sprayer full of Customer Relief.... NAH Just kidding.. But usually if you mix your caustic strong enough and the hoods real greasy they will run out of the kitchen hacking away.... As far as cleaning a house ( tell them you use a bleaching agent that will ruin there 500.00 suit ) that will keep them inside..

I have had MANY customers follow me around while I was washing. Most all of them have been older men who just wanted to lend a hand. (Or used it as an excuse not to be in the house with wifey). Most of them have even helped me with the hose and have even gone as far as rolling it up on my hose reel. LOL...

The weirdest one though was a couple of months ago. The guy came out with a Video Recorder and video taped the whole Driveway Cleaning because He had never seen a Surface Cleaner before and was Soooo excited. :happydance: He kept going between me and my helper who was Cleaning the Pool Deck and Enclosure. Taped us the whole time with a big smile on his face and kept giving us the thumbs up....Kinda Freaked me out. And yes I told him that too.

I tell the customer at appraisal time that it is not necessary that someone be home at time of service. It seems as though about 50% show up, doesn't really bother me unless they get in the way. At this time I tell them that my insurance only covers me my employees and whatever I'm cleaning but not them. Most of the time they move on.

I have more customers that love the idea of not being home when i'm there. You will always get the one retired guy that use to be a forman or a boss and you cant get that out of them.
