What bird is it?

This bird showed up at the clubhouse of the Marriot Golf course. The staff had never seen it before.

What is it?

Pretty sure it's a golden eagle.

We have a lot of red tails around here. They don't look like that.

Juvenile Redtails don't have a red tail for some time. Redtails around here don't come that close to humans that I've seen. But I've never seen a Golden Eagle.

I'm pretty sure it's a golden eagle. It's eyes were too dark for a juvenile bald eagle and it's neck was too long and brow too prominent for a Redtail in my opinion.

He was around 2 ft tall.

Nice looking bird I believe your right Tony, I say Golden Eagle.
On a side note..
The indigenous people (Native Americans) recognize the Eagle as a messenger of the creator.
