what are epa rules?

In Marlyland you can't have any water go into a storm drain. Big fines min $2,000. You must pump the water into a sanity sewer, or do your washing on a flat lot.

It really depends on what you are cleaning. Is it just general trash residue? Or animal grease, etc. The rule of thumb is nothing but rain in the drain. If it contains anything of mineral or petroleum origin, it HAS to be collected and properly disposed of in accordance with local, not Fed EPA, sanitary sewer guidelines. This can be either disposing of it through some sort of an in-ground grease trap, or you may need further pre-treatment. Check with your local sewering agency. Most counties will all
ow you to take it to a POTW, and pay to dispose of it.

I am trying to keep things general because I don't know how strict your local reg's may be. That is what I would have to do in Southern California. I would be happy to answer any other more specific questions based on your local reg's if you have copies of them.
