What am I doing wrong?

It has been almost three weeks since I last had a call. I have posted yard signs at major intersections, placed color trifolds along with coupons and newsletters into mailboxes. Yet, I am not getting much traffic. Any advice?

I've found that I get more calls from a sign in someone's yard, rather than at an intersection. And I took some advice from here and did a free wash in a developement with 80 houses and all had to drive past this house. I did that Monday, had a lady stop for a card and got two calls that night. Sold 2 of the 3 but expect the other to sign as well.
I also get my best results going door to door and personally hand the literature instead of putting it in a box. I do have door hangers for the ones that aren't home. Good luck

How'd those gutters turn out?

Most of the folks seem to work during the day and a good number of neighborhoods forbid soliciting...I might have to do more free washes for visibility.

Still haven't found a spray on and rinse that cleans to my satisfaction. I've been still cleaning with the Mean Green (which says not for painted or alum.... does painted alum fall in that catagory?) Oh well, it works great but I am trying Simple Green tomorrow. Will still be brushing and/ or wiping. Thanks

Drive down the road with your drain valve open on your tank.....I used to do it just to see how many people would call me to let me know I was leaking.

Seriously just keep plugging away, it will come!

The price of a stamp is much less than a free wash. If you can't get in through the front door, get some nice postcards made or send a decent looking flier to them in the mail. Local newsletters and billboards work too. It may be a little difficult starting out. Don't give up, just try different things and listen to the pros on this bbs.

Good luck, Kemp

best thing you can do is join service magic, be sure to have them send leads thru text message, be the first one to respond and sell your azz off...don't worry about the lowball label.... sell the job do it right and get the 5 star rating..

yea i skipped the whole working for the bank thing in this endeavor...i have been peice mealing it for a couple of years now and tho my getup is ghetto as all hell i have no worries about repo men...

pm me i will give you more tips on getting the most out of service magic...if you have gone 3 weeks in this part of the season without calls something is very wrong....

Andy, something that worked well for me, was I had a private mom and pop pizza place in town, I gave then 100 bucks to buy pizzas for the next 100 dollars worth of orders, and they got my flyers on the pizza box with the free pizza. The pizza place also flyered up the next 100 pizza boxes. I would get alot of calls from people saying thank you for the free pizza.... Then make an appointment for an estimate and sell it!

Alot of people will be doing cook outs for Memorial Day, sell off that! Ohio is still abit cool ( im in PA) most people still don't have the spring fever to clean up the yards and plant the gardens just yet!

Keep your head up things will break for ya!

Andy, have you tried Lake Wildwood? Run a special and you could get lucky. I put out fliers out over there a few years back and still get some calls ever now and then.

I did not but I am just about ready to try anything. I know starting a business can be tough, but this is really scary stuff. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the idea. I am willing to try it and hopefully can get some leads from it. I will let you know. Thanks again.

Richard, I'm glad I hadn't just taken a sip of coffee when I read that, or you'd owe me a "detail cleaning" of my screen and keyboard. :p

Jeffrey, cool idea on the pizza boxes!

Andy, sharp looking Web site you have there. I bet you'll be getting some more calls soon, now that people are outdoors and noticing that their houses, cars, etc. need a good wash after the winter months. (Do they sand/salt the roads in GA, or do you not get snow there?)
"Paging the Detail Doctor! Paging the Detail Doctor!" ;)

Sorry no sand/salt in middle Georgia just a lot of pollen, mold and mildew. I sure hope to get some hits from the website. I just delivered about 500+ color trifold fliers+coupons...Hopefully, I will get some calls. Also planning on meeting with local Realtors on Monday.
