What’s Ron Marshal up tooooo??????

Hello, all the members who don’t have a clue who Ron Marshal is. Ron Marshal is a guy who was afraid of identity theft. Paranoid to use his real name because of all the crap that happens on the web.

AKA Ron Marshal Is me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Ronald A. Musgraves

Since I have started this BBS I have had the opportunity to meet some great folks. The power behind the web is a great thing and can be fun when use in a positive light. I have developed many friends and many business relationships.

Networking- I have been networking my business through the BBS now for three years. I mean I have been actually making money. (Not on this Site)

This week I have out source to leads intentionally and lets see if anything becomes of it. They are two well know people on the BBS and if they want to respond but not give details I will be grateful. I also posted a cold call on the BBS in fleets. (Hope someone takes this)

I have established two new subcontractors since the inception of pressurewashinginstitute.com. These people that I work with here locally are great guys. Both are Members of the BBS, one is Adam Mosley who runs his own company and the other is James R. I farm out work to these guys weekly.

My intentions of this BBS is to simply raise the standards of the Industry and educate as many contractors as I possibly can about pricing and what they are really worth. Some folks in this industry don’t appreciate or like what I’m trying to do. They say Ron your making it to easy for the new guys. We don’t need any competition. My answer to them would be what are you even doing on the BBS?????????????

Helping folks on this Network is what it’s all about. Of course you need to be careful because there are scrupulous people that use bad business tactics.

Its simple if we raise the education levels those who don’t have it will be worth less. Those who have the knowledge will now know why they are worth more. Some say no, we don’t need more competitions. I say competitors will always be there. So if our competition is playing on the same field we can compete.

I have no ulterior motives behind this site, no hidden agenda. It’s that’s simple just want to raise the standards of this industry through education.

Yes I do make money on this BBS but not on your backs, no distributors have given me a penny and I have refused every offer. I have no advertiser and I fully support this BBS with my own money & some help from some very good friends.

This BBS will remain he same and will change only as the moderators staff sees fit. They run the membership and I run the look and the forums. The moderators decide through a voting process for change and what stays and what goes.

If you would like to apply to be a part of the changes and have more say apply in this thread. We are always looking for those willing to help.

Please help me and the others build a community like no other on he web. Some say it’s just a board? I say it’s a path to knowledge beyond any other.

Have Fun and respond…………if you don’t respond you’ll never feel the power.

Hey Ron,
Is Ron Marshall your alter Ego? Which is the better half? LOL

WHen you talk to yourself which Ron Talks and which Ron answers. lol I couldn't resist.

I agree. This bb is definitely a Path to knowledge. It seems that this bb is getting more hits then the others. I wonder why? The answer of course is how you are running it. Its like a delegation of common Contractors where we all have a say.

Different then most other bb's that I've been on.

This is why I wonder to myself if possibly in the future this bb can be the father to a future organization which is Similiar to the PWNA but cost alot less to be a member where we have our own conventions and alot more involvment from contractors then the PWNA.

AN organization where for example may only cost lets say $50/yr and Contractors get alot more out of it then the PWNA does for them.

An Organization for Powerwashing contractors first. This is the key. An organization where us common people will get alot from for there money.

Right now we get alot here for NOTHING. That alone is alot more then People get for the $250 or so that the PWNA cost to be a member.

How do I know this? Easy I go to at least 4 other boards and at least 80-90% of the people say so in there post when ever the PWNA comes up in selected topics.

Its always going to come down to what did you get for the money that you spent. How much Bang for the Buck. THere has to be a proper balance.

Until then I will stick to this bb and get infinite amount of info for nothing and in the future belong to an organization where the balance is in place..

One more thought on the PWNA. They have 336 members. Some real good members no doubt. But in the last few years I haven't heard many of the CONTRACTORS that belong to it say how great it is to be a member. Maybe a guy like Mke Hughes can make a difference along with Chris Detter. Who knows.

But there are 270 members here and almost all of them say nothing but nice things about this bb and how much they are learning. You can't beat that. POSITIVE responses. Another KEY to success. Anyway other thoughts as always is greatly appreciated.

Ron talking to Ron, lol, how about just say he chased his tail and bit it off so he came out of the closet:)

Ok that said this board, the members, the people I have met personally and though Email, phone calls and just here all add up to a learning experience.

I have gained a lot here, sure I learned elsewhere also but things happen here that just won't anywhere else.

Educating is a key to it yes but it takes knowledge to be able to educate, that comes from experience and that comes with time.

Even the guys that have been in business for years still can and do learn, new products, or improvments on the old and tried ones make things better.

About a better organization then the PWNA, that could happen IF enough want it, these little get togethers around the country could be the start of something bigger but it takes teamwork and pulling together.

There really is no end to what we as a group in related businesses can do to make things better IF we work together.

I myself would love to see many more of my competitors from around So. Calif. join however that just won't happen.

Meanwhile back in AZ. do I hear the drums beating? OMG, it is HIM, which HIM is it is the question???

Ron Marshal is dead,,,,,,,,, he had some pretty good posts!!!!

Anyway about the Pwna, we should be positive about the organization. One man can’t do everything and Chris detter needs your help.

Voting for mike Hughes will be a good thing. we should all support organizations that are positive.

Blastmaster, cleanertimes, PWNA , ceta and any other that come along. I don’t mean financially but with a positive out looks and sharing ideas.

I Have to say, Thanks Ron Marsh....uh...Musgraves, for putting this forum together. Thanks to all the members too, for giving of thier time and sharing thier knowlege with whoever needs it.

I cannot put a value on the amount of knowlege i've gained by being here and corresponding with other memebers. I look forward to checking in here to see what everyone is up to and to pick up ideas for improving the way we operate our company.

The rest of the stuff I would have said was already covered by Jon & others, so I won't write it again.

Shawn

hi Ron, I think you have a good thing goin' here...just don't do like Dan and require a $50 or more yr. donation...i feel if someone wants to send a donation then thay can in private...don't make people feel thay have to. my2cents

Don,

Just let me say this it will never happen. i will ask for way more than 50.00 LOL

Just kidding, i will not ask for donations and people wont pay even if i did ask. my intentions here are to help and the reality is that is what i'm doing.

i have been accused of having some alterier motive. I have no real plans except not to make money off the members.

i Have nothing against wanting support, keep your money and support the site by contributing your time. its worth more and it helps more. i can handle these enormous bills (25.00 per month) WOW thats it and alot of my time.

Maybe thats a new slogan,, keep your money and help with your time.

Hi Ron

Ron as far as raising the level of professioalism i think this site helps a lot. Lots of people have had past problems with pressure cleaning people doing damage and thats the biggest thing to get customers to get past. Also push the fact that you must KNOW and LOOK like you know how to prop. use cleaning chems. I have seen contract cleaners mixing there store bought chems. at the customers house. How stupid can you be. The customer need not know that he could have got the same soap for $20 bucks and you just washed his house for $150. You dont see CHEMLAWN mixing cow crap on your front lawn. They also have uniforms. Where a polo type shirt[with co. name] when giving an est. and nice printed tee shirts when washing, dont look like a bum. Keep your equipment and truck looking new. Spend the extra on your buisness cards its the first impression a lot of people get from you when other people hand them out for you.
Remember the wash job starts as soon as the customer lays eyes on you not when the wash unit is started. One other thing a lot of people forget to do. SMILE:) CUSTOMERS LOVE TO DO BIZ. WITH SOMEONE THATS HAPPY be outgoing use all your senses and pick up on what the customer likes if he has a boat in the yard show intrest,if hes got a whatever ask about it. When doing sales allways end the sentance with a question. But not too meny.
Nice boat do you fish?
the first thing a fishing lure must catch is a fisherman.
Ron thanks for a great site i hope it exspands to more then the 25 people that you see one every other board. They are all great people i just would like to see this get bigger.
As far as making some money- no offence to blastmaster but $5 to hold a newspaper that basicly reprints what ive read on the boards and has twice the ads as articals. No thanks.
Someone needs to build a E-ZINE online data base with downloads on specific types of washing. A short movie is worth a million words. Now for that i would pay $5 per download and learn a lot more. Also with an e zine subscription you could buy past issues. Sales CO. could offer discounts and specials to subscribers[only]. There was'nt one"mention this ad and get a free whatever" in that paper and its a waste to cut trees down in this day and age. Im sure Co. that sell products would make the movies for you to sell. Nation wide they must sell 1000 gal of soap a day to contract cleaners why are there so few people that use this site? im done now ill give the soap box and you a brake. thanks for giving me a PLACE i no what its like to fell out of it

Squirt,

I liked some of your impute, dont take offense but start practicing what you preach. whats your real first name, i realize that some dont like to use there names when i first started i was a little scared.

on the other side i agree with the about everything you said, i believe we have way more members that post here than any other place on the web. we also have more guys with 5 & 10 posts. and when you get done here you will have a couple more.

as a matter of fact i have never seen you on any other BBS, so like many others you have posted here and maybe have only read the others? Maybe i'm wrong and your someone else.

Glad to have you on the BBS you sound like a very opinionated person and i appreciate people that have back bone.

Good luck and thanks.

Don,

I cant believe we have to cover this ground all over again, but here goes.......

Nothing is REQUIRED.........it is stricly optional........and the only people that ever made people "feel like they have to" was a few comments from someone that really in the scheme of things mean nothing. Its really a non-issue. Also, it was only after the suggestion of a certain member, and encouragement from others that Dan even asked in the first place. They basically had to talk him into it.

MY two cents.

ok ok ok with the preaching mike..I may have the wrong view with the whole donation thing but i am reminded about the 50$ donation everytime i recieve an e mail on a thread that i have subscribed to on dans site...i don't see it on your e-mails or anyone else who i subscribe to...i have nothing against dan,I go to his site daily it's just the e-mail thing that gets on my nerves a little and its no big deal, I knew you would not be able to resist a comment on it:rolleyes: ) just kidding as far as squirt...I thought that was Ron P

:) Ok Don.......your right.....how could I resist correcting a statement that is just flat out false??

Politician or not, I'm still going to throw in my two cents......for now.

Mike, i see where I messed up,I said "require a donation" the key word being require, clearly a wrong choice of words, after doin' some back reading on Dans board I understand.
