Well It's That Time of Year

Well it's that time of year again when I start my annual log splitting ritual. I'll spend the month of Sept. splitting wood for the shop stove in my down times. Splitting white oak this year. I love using wood to keep my shop warm. Here is some pics of my splitter. It's a home built unit I bought 3 yrs ago. It doesn't look like new but it functions like new. And the boom saves a lot of work (and back pain). Have a feeling its going to be down right COLD this winter. IMG_0270.jpgIMG_0269.jpgIMG_0271.jpg

That looks cool!

Any video of it working, looks amazing.

I have not seen a log splitter that will also lift the wood up onto the surface, that saves a lot of wear and tear on the back. I grew up trimming trees and cutting them down and we all carried the logs for many years until we got hand trucks to make things easier.

I bet that the logs saves a fortune on heating bills for the shop.

I have always wanted a house with a fireplace so I can burn wood in the winter time, between my dad and brother I could have many years of wood stacked up at the house in no time if I wanted it, if I had a fireplace.

Looks like one serious piece of machinery
