Weel I got laid off today

Well I went to work like normal and was called into the office said since I was the new guy plus I have pressure washing to fall back on, that I was 1 of 4 people to be laid off. It sucks cuz my pressure washing business is still kinda new. But oh well!! With the new free time I will be hitting the streets hard to gain more accounts. Wish me luck

I was laid off in December from a great career. Freaked out at first when I could not find another job that paid even close. Eventually followed my dream of working for myself. Just getting going in commercial power washing (did residential part time with coatings also). So far I have 13 restaurants. You already have a headstart having the biz part time.

Just get out there and push free demos!! You will be ok, and probably eventually be happy you were laid off.
 
came home took a shower and hit the streets. Started with the couple of accounts I have been doing for sometime. Just wanted to get some leads on possible other used car dealers that might know. The 1st one gave me a couple of names. Heading there now. The other well it went a little better.

I have been washing the lot for approx 8 months now. Walked in and talked with the General Manager. Walked out with doing all the refreshes on the cars that have been on loan or test driven. 7-8 cars a week. Its a start.

Have you tried to get any restaurant or retail accounts? The initial cleanings on restaurants take a while (I average 5 hours with just me), but after the initial, the regular service is pretty easy. The accounts seem pretty easy to get too with a demo.

Sorry to hear that. Chin up!! Keep all your business expenses together so you would not miss a thing come tax time for 2009 especially travel.

How is the stamp collection? I keep forgetting to ask my mom for stamps from back home.
 
Bryan, Its a blessing in disquise. same thing happened to me 4-5 years ago and i thank god it did,(in a way.) it realy put you in a situation where you make it work. good luck and may the sales be with you!
 
Hopefully one day you will look back and say this was the best thing that could have happened
 
My sales manager who was also a friend did me a huge favor yrs ago when I was selling cars and laid me off. Best thing that ever happened. You'll do great Bryan. :clapping:

Brian take your un-employeement check and Buy a stencil, then gas the car up for Texas. I'm going to demo the stencil demo and show you how we landed 131 accounts and stopped counting.

Coming to the Texas Round Table will be a big boost for you in many more ways than you can imagine right now.

Good luck and try to stay positive, it is hard sometimes but you will probably see this as a mixed blessing in time.
