Web Domain Stolen....

Somehow our website domain name came up for renewal, and we didn't renew in time. Well, some porn/site parking company bought it out from under us and changed it. We now lost our website, PR rankings, google ranking, we have to change our business cards, truck stickers, everything.

Anyone who knows what kind of a year we've had, knows this is just one more kick in the balls for us.

Scott, there have been a few guys this year who have had some BAD luck and you are surely at the top of that list. Sorry to hear about what happened. I never really thought about everything having to be changed before. I hope the rest of this year and 2009 are much kinder to you. You deserve some good luck for a change. Try to keep smiling...:)

Yes look and see if it is for sale , it maybe cheaper to buy it back then to reprint all your business stuff, But it still is not right having it taken from you. The internet is full of morons trying to make a buck and rip people off.

If it was not renewed and it was back on the market and for sale and someone bought it I would hardly call that ripping someone off.
Seems to me that it may have just been a timing issue...Bad for Scott, Good for someone else. Still sucks that it happened though!

Brutal, really sorry to hear it! I agree, try and buy it back at a fair price if you can, if not, fight for it. If Julia Roberts can get her dot com name from the owners when there are a million women named Julia Roberts, you as an active known entity are surely entitled to your company name, if in fact your domain was the name of the company (sorry I don't know). Look up ICANN as a last resort.

Well there are thoses out there that wait for your Domain name to come due just to sell it back to you, I have seen it happen many times, So selling it back happens all to often and it does happen. So I call that ripping it off or praying on ones misfortune ;) But who knows .........We had it happen for a company I worked for and they wanted to sell it back to us.

 OMG Scott, this is terrible to hear.
We went through a similar situation with our LLC. A non profit electric company (that had nothing to do with PW) had a similar name and the state told us we needed to get permission from them to use our name. Long story short, they told us no. We almost had to change our website, marketing materials, etc. But we found a way around it and now that is why the "TX" is front of "Gulf Coast Power Washing"!
I hope that what some of the others are saying is true and you are able to somehow get it back. Good luck with this man, and keep us posted.

Wrong site, he's talking about gotadirtyroof.com. Just thought I would clarify.
