How many inches of Rain will Phoenix get the week of January 18th, 2010

As often happens, we have rain forecast for three, or four days next week. It is supposed to rain 3" on MOnday, 5-10" on Tuesday, and then a significant amount on Friday. Since our annual rainfall is around 6 to 8", I am taking a poll. How much rain do you think will fall in Phoenix. I might even be able to get Ron to contribute a prize drawn from those that guess the correct amount in the poll. The poll will stop Monday night.

How about it? I know you owe me a hose, still... Plus you have some reel's laying around. You up for it?

We actually have a pretty good storm control system. There might be some minor clean up work, but nothing major. All our storm sewers are connected to retention basins, and then it flows to the river bed. If it gets really bad, they will do releases from the dams to maintain a safe water level. It has been nearly 30 years since I have seen major flooding in Phoenix, and we have had some good storms blow through.
 
I voted that I hope Ron and Scott know how to swim. We are already getting the 1st of the 3 storms here. The forcasters are saying it's suppose to be worse than 1998 El Nino.

I can't remember when the last time I looked at the forcast and it said 7 days of straight rain here. I live in Southern California.....it doesn't or at least it's not suppose to rain here.
 
Monday, at zip code 85007, which is downtown Phoenix, and close to the airport, where the measurements are taken, we had 0.05 inches of rain. Welcome to Arizona weather reports. For what it is worth, I am looking out the window right now, and there is literally not a cloud that I can see. It is supposed to rain after 2 pm, though.

So I'm winning so far?
 
That was only 1 of 4 storms though. You still might win Tony, weather forcasters always over predict things anyways. It rained pretty good up until 4 PM here yesterday though and now we are just waiting on storm #2.
