How do you guys deal with run off when doing flat work outside, I do Kitchen Exhaust in the DC/Baltimore area. Just curious.

It will be different all over the country and vary even from city to city. This site is a great place to start. Kendra can give you some fundamental things that may pertain to your situations.

I assume some of you do actually capture the waste water for proper disposal. What equipment do you guys use, I have seen many different gadgets to contain, capture, pump away, and filter. Just looking for some advice on what works.
I have seen many guys at night cleaning in my area with no concern at all about where the run off goes.

Ok the simplest system is a sump pump, garden hose and spare tank and some sort of dam to stop the water so you can pump it up.

What is it your washing, just sidewalks or oil, grease and other things that are more harmful?

There are many types of equipment out there, some cost upward of $5000, all depends on your needs, the laws where you live and what your cleaning.

Im using a barrel with a cut out of it and a grill about a foot and a half off the bottom to wash filters. I use somthing simiular to a pan that has been cut from a barrel for fan cleaning. both get the sump pump treatment. When the fan is far I run the hose down the duct into the kitchen. You can also use a tarp like when washing trucks for the filters. None of the above work in china.
