Washing in the rain

I do a number of gas stations that require that they are preformed during the day time. I do this particular set every other Thursday. Last Thursday it was raining for part of the day and one of the managers walks out and starts complaining (like he does daily) about why we are washing in the rain. I attempt to explain to him that where we are cleaning is covered and it has no affect on what we are doing. Well he continues to piss and moan and finally calls the owner. The owner tells me to finish washing for the day but not to do it in the rain. As we are picking up more work each week, I dont have a lot of give in the schedule as far as changing these around.

How can I help him understand that there is no affect on what I am doing if it is raining?

Tell him you work with water? and tell him u ru on a schedule and wont be able to get to it anotherday. and if he will sign this form that he passed up the wash and youre Co. will not be responsable for and slip n falls due to the oily surface.

Tried it, I just met with him and 2 other gas station owners. I will talk to him more in depth soon about this. I dont want it to be an issue, but the rain helps out greatly with the rinse process.

Nope just working around them. There is only 2 that are high volume so the customers really are a very small issue.

I did a gas station in Tifton one day. The owner required us to come day time and told us to shut down the pumps we were working at. When we were on the sidewalk, he closed the store down completely until we were out of the way. I thought that was strange, but I guess it is what he wanted.

I only wished our accounts would let us close down the station. We have gotten to the point where we don;t take any crap from their customers anymore, we have spent entirely too much time waiting on them so in most cases we shut down one area at a time unless its a drive-thru then sometimes we will let them go around us to the window for a few minutes till we reach that point the close it down completely. Honestly can you say that your hurting their business when you shut down a drive-thru for 10 minutes and have 2 big guys cleaning it. We are capable of teaming up and getting it done in 10 min max so I inform them of that up front when selling now just in case we have to start washing at a location that is not closed when we begin cleaning

Scott, will u be in atl for the rt?

I don't have plans for ATL.

I know Russ and I have talked about the danger cleaning these places while they serve customers poses.Gas fumes and hotboxes and skids don't mix well.I would be setting up the rig as far away from the pumps as I could.
