Washed aggregate driveway

I bid a 6500 sq ft drive for $585.00. Got the job and learned a lesson. This stuff is harder to clean and takes alot longer to rinse than concrete. I will stay at .12 on next one. Lesson learned.

With aggre. drives. go by the hour. say it will take 3 hours, 300 dollars

One of the great things about the BBS is that people are willing to share the knowledge they have and their experiences also.

Just like you have learned about washed aggregate driveway, others are learning from you today and from years to come.

When you got the call and went to look at the job, did you come here and do a search on aggregate driveways? I would guess that there are posts from this year, last year or from many years ago about people's experiences about doing them. Some also share their experience and tell you about it.

This site is truly a great place to learn and share!

I did not search the forum before pricing. Great point you made. I priced the job wanting to average at least $100.00 per hr. I normally charge .12 for drives, .17 for pool decks. Mainly because water gets trapped in more corners when doing pool decks and if you let the hose lay in the water dragging around, you will scrape the paint from the painted edge. If I stayed at .12 it would have worked.
Here is the inportant thing I did not quit or cut corners. She said to me at one point, you sure have been here a long time. I said yes mam I have. She said when you get a chance I want my house washed. Yes Mam.

That is great Andy! It is nice when things like washing aggregate driveways turn into more jobs like house washes.

Tips were 2.0 I believe. No soaps. Fat Boy is with Bob and I missed it. Had f-18 on trailer but to time consuming for pump up. What should I have used?

Was more wondering what angle were the tips, a 2502 tip has almost 40% less impact than a 1502,...with all other parameter being the same.

On the chems, maybe 12% with a mix of butyl or mild caustic, wash and then a if needed a mix of 12% as a brightener.

You could pre-treat it with your house wash mix, just downstream it.
