I have been scratching my head lately wondering if I should persue a fulltime business in dock, deck, and log home restoreation; ie. pressure washing and sealcoating.
I know that there are many potential customers in the area and have talked to many building contractors and property mangement companies that need my services. Competition is scarce.
Although, with the current events with war, should I consider that this may be a bad investment right now?
Do you think that property owners will tend to hold back on home improvements this spring and summer seasons?
Most of the customers that I would be dealing with hinder there thoughts of home improvements on how there Money investments are doing in the stock exchange.
For those of you who are veterans in the pressure washing business, what kind of trends have you experienced?

For those of you who are Military Veterans... Thank you for your service.

But for now, My question is, How deep is the water and should I jump in?

p.s.
Excellent web site and everyone that comments on here is well appreciated.

Come up with some way to rephrase that poll and I'll edit it.............those two choices make no sense to me.

Post below what you think it should be changed to...........this could turn into a good thread......

MY OPINION

People will look to hold onto what they have and make it better.
Also travel less and have more money to spend at home.
At least that's what im hopeing.
Im going full time myself.

I guess it all depends on who are your target customers.
I try to stay with high end customers or retired communites.
It seems to me that most of the people that have a lot of money spend it, if thay want or need something. I think the thought of war might scare some people. I think a well pland out marketing plan might be in order for these times of uncertainty.

You are right Mike this could be a very good discussion if the choices were something like

1. A war will have no effect on my business

2. I am already looking for a part time job

3. I am staying full time hoping for a strong post war economy

4. I already have my equipment on ebay

EDIT

I figured I would be hearing some good feed back from the questions I asked.
Mike, if you would like to edit my poll go ahead. I contend with Joel's questions.
I tried to edit the poll but I think a system admid. needs to do it for me.

I think that this would be some good discusion at a round table. Unfortunatly, the closest round table to me is in Chicago, 400+ miles away. I am way up here in the sticks.

I finally got tired of getting virus and adware all the time fromusing different software to get my mp3s from so I started to pay forall my music on itunes, then last week my brother in Vegas shows me alink to this site called http://www.PayZeroMusic.com where he gets allhis stuff from daily, totally free, he is a dj and uses the site toget all his new stuff and classics. Ever since he showed me I have been hooked, its super fast to download any songs or even full albums, they even have a play button beside each song to hear it before downloading and also have an online playlist, Iloaded up my favorite 60 songs into it and now I just log in from anywhereand play all my songs, the guys at work are totally hooked on the site like I now am and I wanted to share the link with you all, remember it is 100% free, nothing to ever pay for there. http://www.PayZeroMusic.com
