Wand Extension Question

I run a adjustable pressure wand , But this sucker is too short and I get tired of bending over, have any of you used some type of extension on these wands? I really need to make it longer, I think it is a 36 inch wand, but I'm getting old and my back starts screaming at after an hour or so of washing with it. I don't want to buy a new longer one wand if I don't have too and where can I buy an extension on line? maybe a 6 or 8 inch would do.

Terry after the heart and brain , the back is mucho critical, I look at it this way, if you purchased the longer wand, the one you currently have could be used as a spare. I hurt my back almost a year to date, and I am just now recovering and still have painful days, sciatica.

To answer your question I dont know if they make an extension.

Well the wand has been customized by Me ;) I hate a Wand that that handle turns on while your using it, so I made a bolt or should I say cut and filed one down to fit it and the handle so I can lock it into place and No Twisting occurs when washing with it. But it has to be an Adjustable Pressure Wand, so I will look and see who has them and they will be cheaper then here in town. I payed like 90 Bucks for this one last year but I bet I can save at least a 1/3 on it by ordering on line. I will look and see if I can find an extension for it too, I know they make them.

I use the dual lance wand.

I put a linear gun at the end (like on the extendawands or the surface cleaners) and the inlet has a 90 elbow with coupler so the hose will be pointing down and not adding more stress to the fittings.

That gun is threaded to the dual lance.

The outlet of the dual lance has 1/4" coupler.

All my wands (1' to 8' long) have a plug on one end and coupler on the other so you can attach the nozzle or another wand.

With a 2.5' or 3' wand on the dual lance, you can rest the gun on your shoulder and control/maneuver by holding onto the pressure adjustment handle. When doing lots of gum, you are not killing yourself this way and the pressure coming out of the end is helping to support it.

Some day I will take a picture of it but you get the idea.

I use the ball valve/swivel to connect to the gun but have a tennis ball with string in the gun handle for control and if the tennis ball pops out (it does sometimes) the string is tied through the ball to the handle so it just hangs there instead of rolling away or under obstacles where you can't find it.

Yea mine is a Dual lance Wand, I need to be able to control the pressure when I need it lowered down. I don't see anything longer then 36 inch in Dual Lance, I wonder if they make them? I know there are suppliers on these BB that might sell them or maybe I will have to make an extension myself. Post a pic when you get a chance. Oh and I broke the handle on my Ball Valve yesterday too, I went to turn it off and the handle broke off in my hand so I need to buy a new one of the too.

They make a 72" dual lance but you don't need that.

All you need to do is get some short wands like on this page:
http://www.pressuretek.com/lances.html

Get some that are like from 1' to 3' or 4' and put a plug on one end to connect to the outlet coupler on your dual lance and on the other end of the wand put a coupler so the nozzle will connect and that is it.

With the plug on one end of the wand and coupler on the other you can add another short wand if needed to that wand and then the nozzle at the end.

Here it is another way: hose-3/8" brass swivel-3/8" ball valve- 3/8"plug
then: 3/8" coupler-90 degree elbow-gun-dual lance-1/4" coupler
then: 1/4" plug-wand-1/4" coupler-nozzle or other wand (if needed).

With this setup you can add a nozzle to the dual lance, add a wand to the dual lance then the nozzle or add a wand to the wand and then the nozzle.

Draw it out and you will get it, I am not good at drawing.

This really relieves the stress on your back, hands and shoulders.

Terry, you are still using the dual lance, just adding another length of wand to the end of it, you still have control with the side handle.

I bought one of those 72" dual lance and it is a lot more heavier than the regular kind.

Here is the Ball Valve that I use, they work great:

OK I found a 42 Inch Dual Wand on Envirospec site, I think that might be the right size, mine is a 36 Inch and it needs just a touch more length on it. I never payed attention when I got it a year ago but after washing with it for a Year time for a new size LOL I had enough yesterday on the job I was doing and said thats it no more bending over, My back will thank me BIG TIME.

It does not matter how long the dual lance is.

Like I mentioned, Go and get some wands from 1' to 3' in different lengths so you can try out and see what you are comfortable with.

You can make the whole thing as long as you need to be comfortable with, no need to go looking for a certain length dual lance. I never do.

It will save your back, shoulders and hands.
