Thinking about getting a video camera for christmas to record some before/after/during video's of jobs, as well as posting to you tube. Thinking about getting one of those Kodak small flip camera's. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these or any other suggestions.

Cannon Powershot SD1400is

14.1 Megapixel
Full High Def Video
Lots of cool features.

Small and compact. Best "small" camera I have ever owned.

Make sure that it shoots in HD. I shot some demos I did earlier this year to hand out to potentials with my old Sony mini DV (cassette)and looked like pure crap on my 53" tv after transferring it to disk. I even tried mini DVD, still junk. People (myself included)are so used to viewing in HD that everything else seems cheap and unprofessional. I was looking getting a hard drive based vc, but now I will use my wife's new Canon 7D she got for Christmas. Win, win. She's getting into semi pro photography so the added video feature was just a big plus for me.

I had a cannon powershot for about a year.. It was awesome while it lasted. Batteries started going dead after one picture and then it just quit all together. So I decided I would never own another point and shoot that had batteries.. I bought a Nikon s6000 and couldn't be happier!! I made a couple of real short videos for my website (Nothing fancy) and they are ok for me!! And it was right around $200.00 I think..But I did just see at best buy they are on sale for Christmas for like $169 or $179

The one problem I always had was shooting at night? Most of those cameras dont do good night video.

+1 on that!! Especially if you just finished spraying or cleaning, they pick up the moisture in the air and you can see it in the picture..
