Vanguard Engine won't start

Clean County PW

While starting my Landa PGHW hot water PW the engine seemed to be back firing. Once started the engine took awhile to get up to speed.

After using this PW for 4 straight hours I turned it off so I could eat lunch.

20 minutes later I go to start it and it wouldn't start. It was just making a loud popping noise(Engine backfiring like a shot gun blast) but would not stay running.

Since I was on the jobsite I didn't have much time to try to figure out what the problem was. I did change the spark plug and the engine still would not start.

What should I do next?? Should I just do a complete tune up or is there a specific problem that could be causing this??

Thanks

sounds like you need a pro.
your getting ignition of fuel before the exsaust valve is fully closed.
if it were an old harley, i would be checking the timeing.
On a brigg's i would check the valve adj.
you might have a carbon deposite hung up in the exsaust valve and it's not closing all the way, or out of adj.
What dose the sparkplug you took out look like?
very black i bet.
Maybe it's just the point's [electronic ignition moudule gone bad]
Do a leakdown pressure test if you have the tool.
this will tell you if it's a valve prob or early ignition prob.
How meny hrs on the engine?

Change your oil!
These engines have a sensor inside that kill the engine if the oil level is low or if the oil is too thick.
An engine oil change may fix the problem!
