Vacation

So I have unintentionally been neglecting my family for the past 2.5 months because work was coming in by the truck load. For weeks i would work day and night and did not take a day off for weeks at a time. Yesterday made 4 weeks now that I have not been to church. The good news is that all the work is caught up and I have been working for a while now to get ahead so I can take my wife and kids on vacation. Looks like we will leave on Wednesday. We have decided to go to the beach. Just have not decided on which one. I suggested Miami, she thinks it is too far. So now we are looking for somewhere within about a 7 hour drive of Atlanta. I really have no preference (outside Miami) and she will not make a decision until we are in the car if left up to her. Does anyone have reccomendations?

I suggested MB to her butsshe does not want to because we will be there in a few months for the RT. I suggested Wisconsin, but there are other motives for that, and I have to focus on my family, not work.

Check out Saint Augustine Fl. We go there all the time to get away. Lots to do. Beaches, Shopping, Ghost tours, trolly rides boating, waverunner rentals etc... We always have a great time when we go. (another stolen little Dude)

I was gonna suggest Destin FL too. Great beaches, good fishing and plenty to do for the family unit. Not far for you I think.

If you were gonna make it to Wisconsin in 7 hours from Atlanta I was gonna have you tell me when so I could go watch you go by on I-65.

Kelley suggested the PC area which is right there at Destin. We are trying to find somewhere we have never been, or not been together and that is our real problem. We were in Destin / PC last Oct or Sept. Even though, it is still on the list.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I was going to drop some NOS in the back of my work truck and let that speed me up :)

Have to look into that, not too sure if she has considered that.

Pensacola and navarre are really nice and close to Destin just not as expensive beaches and the water are great. We were Destin regulars 2 or 3 times a year until we stopped at Pensacola and santa rosa island one weekend.

Navarre is about 6 or 7 miles down the beach road from Pensacola beach and is kinda secluded low key.Pensacola has all the touristy stuff.

Pensacola is great. Charleston is the bomb though. :) I miss that place! Lots of things to do in Charleston and it is usually cheap too.

That is a beautiful place. We've spent a few weekends there too...
Now y'all got me wanting to go on a Vacation!!! See what you started Jonathan?

Take them to Tampa the end of July for the weekend or a few more days, let them have fun at the beach while you relax and learn some great stuff at the round table. Win-Win for everyone. There is also Busch Gardens.

Get a plane. Go to hawaii. You will be a hero.

I think she has decided on Myrtle Beach and the Dunes Village resort. We have both been to MB, but not together, so that will do.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Were you Scared that my wife and I might meet up with you and your wife in ST. Augustine? There goes my Vacation plans.

We go to Destin, FL every year and always have a good time. We grap a condo for a week and relax, jet ski, parasail, all of the tourist stuff. Lots of fun, I highly recommend the Destin Area.

I second Destin, spectacular beaches and beautiful white sand....I sound like a commercial..LOL But really it is awesome there and very close for you, as it is right in the Panhandle of FL!!
