Use of the word "SoftWash" in the New Orleans Pressure Washing Class curriculum

I have been informed that AC Lockyer has exclusive rights to the word "SoftWash". The New Orleans PW Class will therefore teach, as part of the course, "soft washing" using pressure washers, 12v pumps, and air-powered pumps not "SoftWashing" which is exclusve to AC.

My apologies for any confusion.

I just filed the necessary paperwork to have exclusive rights to the words "pressure washing, 12v pumps, air-powered pumps and New Orleans" please remove these words from all future advertising. And one more thing, i just changed my name to Thad so please refrain from using my name.............Merry Christmas

I have just filed the necessary paperwork to use the words and phrases "Ron Musgraves" "PWI" "AC" NOLA" "New Orleans" "Eco" "Green" and "Green Wash". Any use of these words will be sent for my lawyer "slick willy" to deal with as on a per needs basis. Oh yeah, and I have the phrase "Merry Christmas" too....

I have just Trademarked "Clean and Green Solutions." Doug you will need to change your name immediately!! I have also copyrighted the last name "Rucker" so you will also need to find a new last name. You can keep you first name as I will now be referred to as:

David Rucker - Owner/Operator
Clean and Green Solutions -- a wholly-owned subsidiary of High Tide Exterior Cleaning Solutions, Inc.

Based in St. Augustine, Florida with a satellite branch in Kingwood, Texas.

Sorry Doug but it's a dog-eat-dog world out there!
Anyone found using the names: High Tide or Clean and Green Solutions will be shot with the pistol I got for Christmas! Happy Christmas everyone as I just found out the Merry before Christmas can only be used by Jeremy.

I think it's pretty ridiculous...... But think about it, it's branding protection.

If you get on AC's program, no one in your area can use that term either without threat of a lawsuit.

Good Move? Bad Move? Business Move?

Time and Contractors will tell.

Perhaps it's brand protection for the Pressure Washing Class in NOLA.

In NO way would I want it associated with AC.

I'm neither disputing nor confirming the trademark claim.
This is just a CYA announcement and I'm not going any further into it.

Should we alert all air conditioning companies that they are no longer allowed to use it the abriviation AC in any of their business models? Just curious...

The term Softwashing is a trademark name?? That one I have to see to believe it. A bunch of companies out by me advertises that term in a name and we tell our Customers that when we clean roofs we use our soft wash roof pump and chemicals. We powerwash everything else..

I don't know AC but he seems like he's a highly motivated business man.... More power to him but unless proven otherwise the term "Softwashing, Powerwashing, Pressurewashing etc.. And now people can trademark that expression?? That I would like to see.

Careful Larry, your teetering awful close to the line there with calling out AC...wait, never mind, that would be me "the tool" for calling you out for making a comment about AC.....carry on while the mods delete this post cause I violated something....

Signed,
Merry Christmas (which I can only say now cause I wordmarked it)

Micah had created a poster that used the word softwash in the way that I use as SoftWash with a cap "S" and a cap "W" I dropped him a note letting him know I have the word mark on that use especially when combined with Systems. He said he would look into it and that was that.

Thanks,

AC

Hey AC, in my case I registered my business name Clean County Powerwashing in 95-96 with my county. You have to do that here to along with having a License to Powerwash(this is another topic that can and has been discussed because My License falls into the home improvement category yet I most of the time have to charge sales tax where Home improvements you don't)

To register a business name here you have to find a name that cannot be already registered. So that's pretty easy and fairly cheap. About $35 16yrs ago.

How do you go about registering a name and what's the cost factor to that? Does doing that now cover you for someone else using a domain name has your name in it?

Interesting post...

Trademarking a name h

So which is it you have a "word mark" for? (SoftWash, SoftWash Systems, Soft Wash, softwash, soft wash) or all variations????
A lot of people are gonna need to change their sites and print materials once you clarify...
If it is just Softwash Systems, I get it.

I have been using SoftWash, Soft Wash, soft wash, softwash, Softwashing, SoftWashing, Soft Washing, soft washing, softwashing Soft Wash methods, SoftWash methods, soft wash methods, softwash methods and other variations of those words in marketing, website and other forms of advertising for many years now, long before AC started posting on the bbs's.

Is this going to turn into a legal issue as to who can use this?

I know of others that have been using variations of those words also for a number of years in many different states, even in Florida.

How far is this going to go?
