Help me, this lower prices is a real thing.
This is why it’s happening; it’s very difficult for a new guy to come into the business and Tough even for the experienced guy to stay in the business.
Every week in phoenix we have 5 new contractors hitting the pavement to venture into a new business. We all struggle to stay alive. (the phoenix market is very competitive.)
Over the years I have seen account come and go. Some come back after they made the mistake of going with the low baller and some are just to embarrass to admit they made a mistake.
Let’s just use names: Mobil oil has me clean their stores on occasion. Now called Exxon mobil. 14 years ago I used to clean 40 stores for $265.00 to 325.00 per store. Under canopy only..we would charge them 65.00 more to do the sidewalks while we were there if they wanted it. I lost that contract to a guy who bid them at $65.00. He told them I was robing them. LOL of course they believed them and got upset with me. They have come and gone 8 times since 1987..
I would like to have lunch you could meet some other contractors. we meet occasionally every so often. Give me a call sometimes networking can solve some of your down time. I sub jobs occasionally but don’t have anything right now. I also know a guy that is interested in helping me with marketing but I had to turn his offer down. Right now I just don’t need that kind of help. He was willing to work on commission.
