True Southern BBQ In The Smoker Tonight

Tomorrow my Gators face LSU without our prized QB more than likely. Does not matter because we just plug them in.

To mark this occasion I am getting the Q ready.

Baby Back ribs & BBQ pork ribs

Smoking them 16 hours, so the neighbors will go nutz tonight. I am using wild cherry with no bark. It really does make a difference of the quality of wood you use.

Going to top them off with this little doozie:

Dark molasses
Pure maple syrup
Smart Balance Butter
Olive Oil
Orange Juice
Lime Juice
Apple Cider Vinegar
Catsup
Fresh Minced Garlic
Red Onions Diced
Dark Brown Sugar(Splenda)
Soy Sauce
Worcestershire Sauce
Cayenne Pepper
Minced Habenero
WoodFord Reserve Bourbon

Notice there were no measurements? That will cost ya lol.

I put this BBQ concoction on the last 15 minutes or so. This Q is the real deal. I have a passion for BBQ, so you may see a Restaurant up North that serves real Q down the road.

Jim sounds good. But why use splenda ? Molasses, and real maple syrup, use real brown sugar instead of the fake stuff. You are not watching calories are you? Do you really think splenda will make or break it calorie wise? Come on lets eat.

Oh, one more thing.........

Had to cut down some sugar someway unless you want my diabetic friends to take a bite and go blind... :ignore:

When we do pork ribs we use a dry rub ( 24 hrs pre cooking ) and then smoke them slow and mist the rib periodically with apple juice. The apple juice keeps them moist with a hint of apple flavor.

Dry rub equal parts:

Salt
Brown Sugar
Black Pepper
Paprika

So when do we eat?

Thanks David. As far as the rubs go. I like the wet rubs best for my taste, but the one the other guy posted on here is a good basic dry rub. It can be moved in any direction with the taste you are looking for.

Truth is, there is so many types of BBQ out there, someone is bound to enjoy something. If you ever been to NC, go when they hold the World BBQ championships.

NC, east of Lexington is the only place to get BBQ. Everything else is just cooked beef or pork. :nono:

Lexington BBQ is not a bad place to eat. I like to find all these little hole in the walls to try new Q. Sometimes it gives me a great brainstorm as to how to tweak my own magic wet rub.

Tebow may not play y'all, but he may. I like how Urban keeps y'all dangling over the fire. Even if not, we have the best backup in college as well as the fire em up mentality of Tebow.

Whoever drafts Tebow will get an instant rock star status. Imagine him going to a small market team? They will be getting an entire Gator nation behind them of new fans. They will all buy gear, buy tickets and ect ect.

Detroit should have waited... lol

Tebow Was Not Pretty, But Its A Win!

Gators 5-0, BBQ out of this world all while texting my best old buddy sicne I was 5 back in Florida since the game started. We shuyld have live streamed. My thumbs are sore now...
