Traveling to work

If it is night work, park your rig as close as you can to the front doors of the hotel. All the small loose things (surface cleaners, etc) lock em in the truck or take them in the room with you.

We travel and the cool thing is that all of our work out of town is at night, usually we are the only ones at the Hotel during the day so the equipment sits out in broad daylight so it safer, remember the freaks come out at night!

Jonathan is right we take only what we need on the road and the loose stuff is locked in the tool boxes and the surface cleaners are rolled into the room.

I run a chain thru the surface cleaners and lock them to the trailer. But like Russ said we are sleeping at the same time the thieves are. Never had a problem in 18 yrs, and 2hrs away is not out of town thats down the road a piece....lol

Don't stay at Motel 6 or Super 8 Motels. I've been using priceline.com and have been staying in Hilton's or similar for $45 a night in some cities.

I just make sure there is water in the front tank, tool boxes are locked, big chain/lock around the surface cleaner and the early detection lo-jack is working.

We are going to West Memphis first of next week to wash apartments. I hope to be in and out in 2 days. Its about a 3-3 1/2 hour drive from here.

Its not exactly the safest looking town Ive ever been through. Ill take yalls advice and leave at home what I dont need and probably run a chain through the rest.

Stay out of town in Memphis, even if you have to travel to Horne Lake Ms to stay I would not leave a rig parked there at a motel especially at night

If you'll head north on 55 just as you enter w. memphis, then take the first or second exit, there are some nice new or newer motels we used to stay at, like someone said, just put your surface cleaner and generator or whatever else isnt bolted down in the rooom with ya.

we are on the road right now and i have every thing locked up and close to the room we travel all the time no problems but we had a 18000 dollar unit stolen from our house they came in and broke the lock and took the trailer if they want it bad enough they will get it.

We are heading out at 5 in the morning. Itll be a little more than a 3 hour drive then hopefully 2 hard days and only one night away from home. I used my hotels.com account and found what appeared to be the best place around. Will be leaving surface cleaners and extra ladders at home. Taking a chain for anything else.

I use a wireless alarm made by optex you plug the receiver in your room and place the sensor on your trailer in a inconspicuous place if motion is detected the chimes will go off alerting you to grab the glock. It has a 300 ft line of site range and has saved my equip more than once. Regards
