Too loud? Huh!

I've been asked by a customer if there is a way I can put a muffler on my P/W (18hHp Vangard). Anyone have any ideas whats available or if this is even possible. Would it hurt the performance of the engine. If any small engine expert could jot me a line or two I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Run the pipe under the trailer and use a car muffler. If you have a wood deck trailer, use a metal collar around the pipe to prevent burning of the wood.

Mr Alan

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of that would you. What would I use to make the transition from the standard Vangard muffler to the car muffler.

Thanks

Hey John, Where have you been? In line at the bank making deposits! Haven't seen you on in a few months. How's everything going?

I do not have a picture, but any reputable muffler shop would have both the muffler and the needed parts. If you are a DIY guy, then a goo auto parts store should have what you need.

Earplugs? What a great idea. Yeah I could walk in to the office and tell them I would have to special order the CB-125 noise deadening device. Issued upon request.

Thanks Alan, I will look into it at the muffler shop.

Grant,

Yes. Either I have a lot of deposits...or really slow tellers. lol

Seriously, most days, I am washing two houses - twice as many as last year. "How" you ask? I turned on the heat (140*) and installed a 30 gal chem tank (for downstreaming) in the bed of my truck. I also bought better backpack sprayers (oxalic acid, stripper, chlorine and stain) that are more reliable and don't clog.

When you spend less time at each job, you can get more done.

Good for you!
Glad to hear things are going well.
Don't be a stranger!

John Orr,

What is oxalic acid good for and where can I get some?

And Yes, you probally do have a lot of deposits but the teller is at another window. I think you meant to post to a different thread. Hopefully, you are in line at the right bank. Just ribbing ya! :)

David,
Don't you presently have a muffler on your machine?

If so, have you tried to position the trailer or machine to reduce the amount of noise heard? Position the exhaust to blow away from the business.

You may also want to positiom the equiptment further away from the building or wash site.

These pic's are not of my equiptment, but are pic's I saved over the last few years.

Now that my friend is a professional setup. How about a closer shot of what you are using to transition off the muffler to pipe running under the trailer.

Need to make quieter because of shift workrers in the housing complex. And yes it does have a muffler but its not very quiet.

Yes, the chemistrystore! I haven't been there in a long time. Did not even think about buying raw chemicals to mix my own chemicals.

Here is the link again. http://www.chemistrystore.com/

Thanks, John

For some reason, I can't get the pics to open! Would you mind emailing them to me? I'm planning to do something similar to what you're describing pretty soon. No complaints as far as noise, but I'd like to be able to fire things up at 8:00am in a residential neighborhood without being concerned about bothering later sleepers nearby.
