Timing Is Everything

Residential and Commercial Pressure Washing Specia
It seems to me there is no one key to obtaining new business. It's being in front of the customer at the right time when they need pressure washing done.

I got a job today to pressure wash 3 office buildings and all of the concrete. It's not a huge job but it's about 15,000 sq ft of concrete plus 3 office buildings.

I got this call after sending mailers out on Saturday. The property manager got it Wednesday and called me about this job I quoted it yesterday and got the news today that I got the job. I have called this customer 4-5 times without receiving a returned call, but he got my mailer when he was ready to buy.

The point of this is don't get discouraged, be persistent, keep making calls, sending e-mails, sending mailers and sooner or later you will find yourself in front of customers when they are ready to buy.

I do not claim to be a marketing guru, but at the end of last year I lost 3 customers and about 6k a month in business and I am just a one man show and thought I might need to hang it up. I am not making a killing but I have been able to keep doing this full time, but it's not always been easy. I am also blessed that my wife has a pretty good job.

Good Luck To All

We are all blessed. To often we take it for granted. Congradulation's on the job

Great Post Mark!!! Guys the Money and the work is out there, all you have to do is GO GET IT!!!

We had a large Community College call last week, I thought this was strange because I have been trying to get their work for 3 years. I was always told "We Have A Pressure Washer Under Contract". Well we go check out the job and I give them the Bid, they accept on the spot but it needs to be done by the weekend, No Problem!!!

So I ask the Head Man, I thought you have a Pressure Washer under contract???? He says " We did but he didn't answer the phone or return our calls, and we had your information from all the times you stopped by"

He was so impressed by the work we did that he let me know that "From Now On We'll Be Calling You For All Of Our Pressure Washing!!!!"

Looks like your marketing paid off for you, keep up the good work.

Guy, Congratulations on the new work, that is great!

Good job Mark.

Persistence does pay. You have to be in front of a potential customer when they have a need. I just picked a good one up. I priced it months ago because they weren't happy with their guy but I was too high. Their guy just went belly up and they know why now. He couldn't make money at his prices. Another reason to set your prices and stick to them. Never let the customer set your prices.

So True!!

Well said Rick!!! I think when guys start out they price themselves to fail. When a customer asks "Can't I Get It Any Cheaper???" I always tell them yes you can, but you will always get what you pay for!!!!

Cheap Work Ain't Good And Good Work Ain't Cheap!!!! (I Tell Them That Too!!!)

So True!!
