Tight Fit

ron p

if you hit the lottery and offered me the winning ticket to get in there, i would tell you to go jump off a bridge.
I allways wondered what they do with early release prisoners. Now i know.

Ron I think we all have been there at one time or another, us exhaust people that is.
You always think there is an easier way, but usually just getting into it and scraping is the best method, when they are that bad.

BRYAN,all my time would be spent of finding a better way. I should go out on a couple of these jobs and see what's involved. There is no way you could ever get me to do that even if i could fit.
I am no enstien but given some time i bet i could come up with some kind of tool to keep my fat butt from ever having to get in there,or just hireing someone that would.
These are just plain old galvinied sheet metal ducts? There is no type of coating that can be used on the metal to keep the grease from sticking so bad?
Dont want to waste your time. I like to learn.

Just one of the problems, and I'm sure someone or everyone will come up with more.

With a long run of duct like in the picture (a neglected one, which I suspect that one, was) it takes way to much water to get it cleaned. And it can be very difficult to handle a wand long enough to reach it all. If you think crawling through a greasy duct is bad wait till you have sprayed 40 gallons of water and chemical in it to find out it is not working and now you have to climb in. NOT FUN! They always seem to leak at one or all the welded joints so if it will take a lot of water that is also a concern.
