I havent found any BBS that is as active as this one! Im hooked!
OK guys, is there anyone that would care to start a thread on housewashing? I know there is a ton o stuff out there that I really need to know, and dont, anyone feel like takin th lead?
B.E. ou rapid fired a lot of questions during that lil misunderstanding.. but they were really GOOD, and VALID points.. if youd care to shed some light, those would be a great place to start. Housewashing is gonna be my start, and ANYTHING would be helpful!
Roofs, siding, brick, wood, flatwork, anything, Im hungry for information!

ron p

pheonix, have you used the search on this/other sites?
I dont like to reccomend specific Co. but in your case.
Call 1-800-346-4876 envirospec they will send you a very good information packet and they sell some very good/cheap chems.[for house washing]
The info packet has a whole booklet on housewashing, including how, what, where, customer service, how to sell a job,ect...everything your looking for to get you started.
It is also my opinion you should use your phone to talk to RON STRICKLAND owner/inventor of the X-JET. WWW.XTERIOR.COM
I see you are very excited about washing, great.
Tell me about your rig, insurance, how you plan on selling your service,ect...
Do you have family and friends in your area to do some test work before you start?
Any specific questions?
Do you have hot water, surface cleaner,ect....
biz. cards,stationary,tax I D,accountant,contracts,biz. phone,is your rig lettered,a general plan,spare parts,tools,collared shirt with your co. name on it,personal price guide,ect...
The info you seek is valueable and just want you to understand people like to know where it's going. I also think you should check out the "how too" part of delco's BBS. Good info can be found there also.

Hey Ron!!

Thanks for mentioning E spec, and they're a fine company, but what I'm looking for is feed back and experiences from th guys that get out in th field every day.. th pros on th go, so to speak.
I'm not cutting th suppliers short at all, but they teach from one angle, the guys that get out and do it for a living, they teach from a different perspective... THATS what I'm looking for!
I want to hear what they run into, th good and th bad, the fun and what gets really ugly..
Here, I have to say, Ron, I've always respected your opinions, and you as an individual have shown me a lot.. I just want to get in that "click" with other guys that do residential and small commercial... they are th ones that will be th keys to my success in th early days. So if the "POWERS THAT BE" are looking, can we get a section on house washing started?? PLEASE??

We do have a forum for house washing. I have moved your topic for you. Have fun posting!

Beth:)

Thank you Beth!

There's nothing like asking, then recieving! This is where I will most likely see most of my reading, and make the most of the learning. My hat's off to ya!

Thanx Squirt

My machine, will be a Delco RK-46, 5.6 GPM @ 3000 PSI I have several marketing ideas, and will have my truck lettered by a local graphics guy as soon as I get it.. I'm going to go with the enclosed box, wanna keep my stuff out of harms way, and out of reach of those that think they want to walk off with it.
ANY suggestions you have, (E-Spec noted) are very welcome, and you are one of those that I have come to read your posts very carefully. I've learned a lot from you, and a lot of others.
I'm going to try various chams, RPC getting some of my biz, and E spec, and Delco sharing other items, but after I know what works best for me, then I can set up an inventory system to make sure I dont run short of anything.
You mentioned marketing, what worked best for you in your early days? I'm a people person, and consider myself service oriented. I do look to you guys here to make sure I dont get too extreme though.. lol. Your guidance is so appreciated, and thanks for the words.
If you would like to email me directly, mail to workin_man71602@yahoo.com

Phoenix, I Agree

We do need to get this forum more active. It seems that many are commercial, and flat work. I have leaarned a great deal in those areas, but do look forward to reading more from other Residential guys.
I prefer residential, and at this point I am only marketing there and some schedule contract on commercial buildings. We have several houses, that are now in commercial zoning, but the cleaning requirements are the same as Residential. I hope this will help in the cooler weather, and I view them as income to build with.
I look forward to reading your experiences. As you said (typed) let us know of what works for you, and heads up on what was less than great.
