Well my boy Joshua turns 8 years old April 18th. We are having his Birthday party today. Man it feels like he should be turning 3 or 4. Him and his sister are very good kids I am so proud of them both. Josh is in advanced reading and math classes. Everything he does he wants to be good at, whether its drawing, football, MMA, school. I hate to see him grow up and go into this crazy world more and more but on the other hand I can't wait to see what he does with his smarts and love for everything. I'm a pretty proud Dad and a very lucky man.

Enjoy it now, before you know it they know more then you about everything, because things are "different" when you were growing up. I look forward to the time my kids think I have a brain again.

My boy is the same way as yours, keep incouraging him to play, remember to ask him if he is having fun playing and does he want to go back tommorrow? I would ask mine that question and he would say "yup dad I do". Now he is 17 years old, 6'5", 210lbs and has been a 2 way starter since his sophamore year.
Now when I ask him are you having fun he says 2 things to me.
1) "Dad theres no place I can go knock the shit out of someone and not get arrested but get congradulated"!
2) "There is no better feeling than steping on the field of battle and seeing the fear in the eyes of the quarterback just before you lay him out"!
Oh did I mention he is in the National Honor Society(that he gets from mom). He's got some schools interested in him so we will see what happens in his up coming senior year.
Keep up the great work with your kids, enjoy every second and Happy Birthday to your Son!
