The State of Tennessee should be ashamed of itself–and the people of Tennessee should

In 1836, former frontiersman and congressman Davy Crockett led a band of volunteers all the way from their home State of Tennessee to San Antonio, Texas, in order to join up with William Travis and his small company of soldiers, and help defend the Alamo–and Texas independence–from Mexican General Santa Anna and his army of over 5,000 seasoned troops. To men such as Crockett, Travis, Jim Bowie, and the rest, State independence and freedom was worth fighting and dying for. To a man, they each proved that. Therefore, it is fitting to wonder what Davy Crockett would think about his home State of Tennessee joining with federal agencies in establishing random checkpoints throughout the Volunteer State.

I think that we should lynch everyone from Tennessee.

Really, they think that they want to go there? Have they been listening to their esteemed former senator too much?

How about this one.

Guy gets convicted for selling cocaine in Georgia in 1989 - OVER TWENTY YEARS AGO and now lives in Tennessee and is a registered nurse.

He goes through all the long steps and gets a Georgia pardon.

He can now get a firearm AND a concealed weapons permit in Georgia which has a reciprocal agreement which gives him a permit to carry concealed in Tennessee also.

But WAIT! Tennessee doesn't like that and denies him the right to have a weapon at all even though he has a pardon.

Sorry guys, but Texans seem to want to be Californians, and Tennesseans want to be Texans. I'm glad I live in a state that just wants us to be individuals. (Except for the constant threat of being murdered in the middle of the night by a police officer) :)

The real sad thing is a vast majority of people will welcome this "police state" as it is The War Against Terror...

And, just as long as it doesn't happen to them personally, of course.

Thank God for states like Florida. Gov Scott initiated drug screenining for welfare, less regulation for business, etc. Of course he is getting resistance from the liberal croud that feeds off over regulation. Nothing like a police state to get the people stirred up. I hope the people of Tennessee take care of this before it goes any further. You gotta stand for something or stand for nothing!
