Nah... Bring it further inland so I don't have to drive as far! Kidding. The beach is cool and I would pay more to stay there. Have you tried the Marriott by the St. Pete Times Forum? Sometimes they have great rates (around $100) and you can walk to Channelside. The Grand Hyatt is about the nicest hotel over there and I have seen rooms there for around a hundred bucks, depending on what is going on.

Shephard's is great. It makes me feel really old, though. Crazy, Frat Boy's and young girls that could be my daughters. I used to go to the Adam's Mark on Clearwater Beach but they tore it down a while ago.
