Talon 1 Swivel being marketed finally

The old swivelforless.com swivel is now being marketed on Steel Eagle's website. I have one and all is well with it, about to order another one from them monday. I recieved the first one for just under $200.00 with overnight shipping so they are very cost friendly and the one I have has lasted long enough to make it worth its small cost. I would reccomend having one of 2 of them for a backup if you do alot of flatwork.

Is it time to rebuild it yet?

What is the price to have them rebuild it or the cost for the kit to do it yourself?

I was about to use mine but got the swivel working. When I was in Tampa for the roundtable, I went to PWProducts shop and they showed me how they rebuild the Whisper Wash swivels and got 2 done while I was there.

Rex really knows his stuff!

I wish the deublins were that cheap to fix let alone replace.

You want to look at the Talon 2, it is a replacement for most brand swivels out there, the Talon 1 is a replacement for the cheap swivel they put on the surface cleaners with the hexagon top. Not sure if the Talon 2 is on their website, it was not there when I bought mine earlier this year.

You can call them and tell them what you are looking for if it is not on the website.

Deublin swivels are the best out there but to rebuild them, it cost a lot too but in the long run, you are probably better off with that swivel.

Steel eagle can rebuild them for $300+ but.....if you are not in a hurry, they can send it out and have it rebuilt for about $200+ but it takes about 4 weeks so you can save some money if you are not in a hurry.

I have had my Steel Eagle 24" surface cleaner for 5.5 years now, not one problem with the swivel, when I need to use the machine, it is always ready to go.

The Whisper Wash surface cleaners.......I have a problem that the bearings go bad from sitting, somehow moisture gets into the bearings when they sit and the bearings go bad so I have to rebuild the swivels.

On the Classic and Big Guy I have had 2 swivels rebuilt 3 times each in the last 1.5 years from lack of use and bearings going bad.

Do the math. Kit for bearings $40.00 +/- and the seal kit $40.00 +/- and then labor $50.00 +/- and then shipping there $10.00 and then shipping back $10.00. So each swivel is costing me $150 each time to get rebuilt.

I spent about $900.00 on 2 swivels to be rebuilt 3 times in the last 1.5 years.

If you could adapt the Deublin Swivel to the Whisper Wash Classic and Big Guy surface cleaners, it would cost probably $600 +/- each but then they would last a long time, probably 4-6 years each so in the long run I would be ahead by using the Deublin.

I think that the Deublin can be made to work, just have not looked into it yet because I am hoping that the new seals and different type of bearings in the Whisper Wash swivels will hold up for a longer time now. If they do, I will be saving more money each year.

I need to buy a press and then can do the bearings by myself, I have rebuilt a swivel in the past but could not get the bearings off, now thanks to Rex at PWProducts, I know how to rebuild them better, a lot faster and have access to different types of bearings.

Hopefully the new type of bearing used will help that last longer, I am looking for more work to keep those machines in use. hahahahaha

I currently have a Talon 2 as well, just noticed it on the website and decided to make it known to everyone that they are out there still. I have to order one this week and probably another for a spare just to have an extra if needed.

Have you put a Deublin Swivel on the Big Guy if so who was the parts or what is the part number on the swivel. I'm looking to change out mine.

I have not had any problems with my swivels since I had Rex at Pressure Washer Products rebuild them for me using the other kind of bearings.

Usually I would get only a few months more or less out of the swivels but I feel that they will last a lot longer now. I hope I did not just jinx them now. hahahahaha

Russ at Southside Equipment rigged up a Big Guy with a Whirl A Way swivel with a Mosmatic spray bar or vice-versa, give him a call and see what it was, I think it was posted here at PWI a while back.
