I'm going to take from the 23 thru the 03 off. Anyone else taking anytime off?

I'm going to pay techs and office for time off during the holidays.

We are very busy, very very busy.

I'm just feeling very lucky that I have a very good business and hard working Staff.

I want to reward them for there loyalty for the hard years they have worked.

I decided for every year they have worked the get a day off pay additional or take double pay.

I'm sure we will be able to cover our work load.

Well since Im basically a 1 man operation, I almost take off everyday ... phones just not ringing as much and I am new. I am working on a marketing campaign which I hope will give me at least work 4 out of 7 days. I'd be happy for a start.

People just don't like listening to young guys. I had the "you own the company?" "you look young" plenty of times and usually never hear from these people again.

I don't normally take days off. I get plenty of days off throughout the year when things slow down. I do have 2 pt employees and normally give them a little Christmas bonus to help them out through the Holidays.

22-1st off here. Going to Utah to visit my folks with my family.
I am nervous about our 5hr flight with a 1year old though!!

Going to N.Y. City for the Holidays...I miss N.Y. ;)

Pat, dont let that discourage you. My first good sized account that I landed came when I was 21. That grossed 6 figures. Do not let the age thing stop you.

I will take Christmas eve and Christmas day off. I will also take new years eve off (dont want to drive with the drunks). I will also take the Sundays off. Other than that, work work work.

Well have a Great time Ron, I won't be off, I'm working 7 days a week right now with these new contracts but as soon as the money starts flowing in from them I'm going to hire someone to help us out and take a bit of the load off us. I will be working a very short shift Xmas night.

We are backed up due to colder than average weather. So I hope to get caught up when it breaks. A heat wave today 45 and 1" of rain. Trying to get the wife to take advantage of airline rates and go to FL during that time. Fishin and wishin.

I agree with Jonathan, Pat, your age isnt a factor if you are professional. Plus I met you you really arent no baby faced kid. have your advertising as professional as you can afford. Heck some of my fliers still are made by me an arent the most professional, but my following up on calls and letters is. If you get to meet a customer or even better a PM look the part, a pair of Dockers or good Jeans and a nice clean logo'd shirt, some decent shoes or boots. Pat you are in the south there is plenty to clean you just really have to stay at it hard and you will get the work

I've had this happen a few times. Most of the time it's not an issue after I start talking or present my marketing materials, etc. Like Jeff said, show professionalism in everything you do. Let them know that this is not your first time and you know what your doing.

When someone says "you look young", say "thank you!" and just keep going with your pitch like nothing even happened!

When someone has said something like this to me, I've never been bummed out because it never came from a good customer. I think it is rude to say something like this to someone you have just met in a business environment. A good customer will know that professionalism and service can come from anyone, regardless of age or background.

No Christmas Vacation in years. I will be driving from Texas to Boulder, CO.
I 'll be gone from 15th till the 2nd.
