Stuttering pump

TSF-2021 ran perfectly after I repacked it a month ago. Turned it loose with a tech and when it came back to me there is a slight studder in the pump like its sucking air. I tried to chase down a leak and eventually just re-plumbed the entire machine from tank to pump. Double checked all new hose barbs, clamps, and brass on the pump. Pulled the valves and checked them and the o-rings inside and still nothing fixed it? Any ideas? I did not pull off the head to check out the packings. The feed hose is 1" ID spa flex hose.

Is the pulsation beat steady or does it fluctuate? Steady pulsing is a cylinder down...valve, packing, piston, rod. Fluctuating beat is an air leak.

Russ Johnson, I picture you with a white lab coat and a stethoscope listening to the pump while your working on it.

Found the problem, pulled the head off and somehow when we repacked it in the middle of the night in the van the packings were inserted backwards and caused catastrophic failure.

no excuses aside I made a goof on putting them in backwards but all is well now.
