Stucco house

I had customer call me today and told me he bought a new small house that was only 1000 sq ft and had a small detached garage that were both stucco....he said the stucco appeared to be applied to cinder blocks? He said it was far out so he wanted an estimate over the phone so I went out on a limb and gave him a sq footage rough price.....

So....how low do you drop your pressure to for stucco? What tip? What cleaner is well? SH with a mild degreaser or just straight SH and water with a surfactant?

Larger Tip or Variable Wand, Both will lower Pressure, Some guys use Ball Valves ...

We use an M5 Xjet and Suttner St-54 for stucco washing. The xjet has a nice soft impact when fully closed and the variable wand gives you full control over volume and pressure of water.

Then if you need a little more power just open the xjet a hair.

We use our GEN2 Dual Pumps from Powerwashstore.com. and use a stronger than house wash mix. Depending on the severity of the mold and mildew, we sometimes will downstream. But we have generally found that the quickest way is to use the pumps. SH, water and Roof Snot is all we ever use. Apply let dwell, rinse. Repeat as needed.

How is the ball valve any good? Even stucco requires controlled pressurized water. In the video, the water was not able to reach the peak of the house. I do condos that gets covered in bugs, I use the ball valve to rinse the spots the weep holes drip and the dead bugs that only bounce around and never seem to come off. I have a chemical tip that can shoot 30 feet softly. I personally would rather use a 40* tip with maybe 800-1000 PSI. Just my opinion.

I disagree with that. I wash a lot of stucco houses and buildings every year and never use pressurized water.

Sometimes you need a stronger mix for stucco but most of the time my usual mix works on just about everything. Sometimes you have the green, red, brown or yellow mold on the house besides the regular mold, mildew and algae but I never use pressure on stucco or Drivit because they can be easily damaged.

Sometimes you need to make sure your SH is strong as a lot of places have it sit there for months or longer.

I agree Chris. Never use pressure on stucco or drivit. Usually just a light rinse. We often use am open ball valve for this.

Thanks guy....I'll lower my pressure and mix my chems a little stronger than normal.....it may take a couple passes, like I said I havent seen it yet. Ill do it monday or tuesday....thanks again

You guys are correct. in my mind I was thinking of vinyl siding. I remember doing a vinyl home that literally had green carpet on it. It was at the time I first saw this video and I know an open ball valve would not be enough. I guess my mindset was in the same place. After reading the comments here I realize what I said was wrong. Im glad you all chimed in. :speechless:
